Quick search shows the brand in Quebec built for a fitness company.

A lady in Colorado put these two trick bikes out at the sidewalk for the garbage collector. Her husband had passed away several years ago and decided to start cleaning up the basement. She said he brought them back during the war when he was stationed in Poland. Bike is an early 1900 era trick bike with the wood rims robbed from it way back when. Not sure on the unicycle. Restoration already started on the trick bike. I found his name stamped on the seat stay up near the saddle. (b/w card for example of trick riding)

Kunstrad! My vote for you winning the internet today.

Came across this poster from an auction recently. The picture is from the 1922 Tour De France rider Robert Jaquinot stopping for a lunch break on a long stage. My how the Tour has changed.

None of the folks in that picture look like they’re in very good shape.

The picture from the 1922 TDF gets my vote for for the Forums best shot of the day. What those riders, and bikes, endured, with so little assistance, is mind boggling.
I'd like a chance to ride the trick bike.

Yes, those riders were beasts. So cool to stop and have a bowl of soup, baguette and a glass of wine during a 482 km stage. Wearing his extra tires around his neck. Here is a link with a nice read about the Tour in those days.

Unshaven legs?

Photo bombing was the thing, even then!

LOL, and it was bottles of red wine, not bidons, that they stashed in their back pockets.

I just scored this one yesterday.
The cassette, chainrings, chain, rear derailleur pulleys, and shifters are all completely worn out, and I managed to buckle both wheels by just standing on one pedal (IMHO, those were never really very good wheels anyway), but the frameset is in very good condition.
I'll probably rebuild it with some better wheels, handlebar and stem, and an Ultegra R8000 group.

Has been a number of years since I've been on this site, but I've been busy collecting the local 26" Cruisers from going to a non-loving home. I am enamored with industrial-centric bikes like my Worksman Newsboy. However, the most interesting bike I have brought home is a Kalkhoff, from West Germany. This will likely serve as a wall-hanger, due to tank-like mass.

I had a riding buddy with a trek that had those wheels, they would visibly ovalise when he was riding, it was like an illusion that you couldn't convince yourself of, as to whether it was or wasn't happening - and every time you decided one way, your brain would find evidence for the opposite. That or my eye/brain connection was failing a long time before I suspected. it.

Edit:sorry quoting error, this post is about the lemond a few posts above.

Took this from a metal scrapper at the gas station today. Cost me a cup of coffee, feel like I over paid.

A Ross with roller-cams? Surely you jest.

Nope, Ross bet early and big on MTBs back then, fielded a team (they wore knickers!) and everything.

The cup of coffee is worth the conversation starter alone. Gotta love those bars.

Love the ape hangers! When I was in junior high I had a 3-speed road bike (can’t remember the make) that I put ape hangers on. Not as tall as those, though! I would have taken this one just for the roller cams if they are in good shape. Also, that looks like a tall frame, which in my travels are rare. Seems like about 90% of the vintage mountain bikes and frames I come across are in the medium to small range. So that frame might be valuable to a vertically gifted rider if it’s sound. You might have a nice collection of components there. 😀

sloar 01-08-26 08:13 PM

The brakes are Dia-Compe AD 990’s. First time I’ve set up this brake set. Kind of a pain in the butt, but they work pretty good.

sloar 01-09-26 08:04 AM

Did a quick overhaul on it, should make someone that’s tall a nice cheap

rider. If not I’ll scavenge the parts for a frame that fits me.

Thanks, that shift cable had me squirming, lol.

Not much going on in the addiction, I mean addition lol. However I did find a set of downtube shifters for the bin.

Two recent pickups, Dave Moulton FUSO and Peugeot PX10. I rarely post finds here, but these two are among my more interesting finds.

The Moulton is an odd mix of Campy Super Record, Dura Ace and even a Shimano 600 HS. The PX10 has a Campy FD, replacement for the crap plastic Simplex units, Shimano bar end shifters, and Universal brakes. It also has Cinelli bars and stem and Weinmann concave rims.

The Moulton sat on FB marketplace for almost a month, at an attractive price. It was also offered at a garage sale, where it didn't sell.
