Italian Speakers?

Anyone speak Italian? I'm corresponding with Mino Denti, an Italian racer from the 60's and bicycle builder. I've been using Google to translate and well, it is not great. If anyone can volunteer help facilitate this communication I would be really appreciative. I can trade some bike parts for the help if I have anything you can use. This guy is a cycling legend in Italy and I'm so happy to be in communication that I don't want to make it any harder on him than need be. Thanks

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I don't know if iab speaks Italian or not. Citoyen du Monde does, but he posts here infrequently.

When I read the title, I was thinking Italian brand speakers.

My Italian sounds like an American guy speaking English and trying to imitate Mario.

"Eetsa meeeee, Maaaaarioooo"

I can try. It's been a few years since I've studied Italian, and I was only at intermediate level, so my Italian is probably very rusty.

My Italian is horrid, but I have a few friends who are fluent. My German is OK, but that is no help. Try Babelfish too, that and Google combined gets you 90% there.

I use free translation.com, and always apologize up front and let them know I'm using it. The other party tends to simplify things, as do I, and it works.

Well, other than the French. I ignore them, anyway.

Yeah, I know the translation works OK for business and searching and such. I just feel like I'm missing out if I can't communicate a bit less clumsily. I guess you have to be talking to the guy whose name is on your bike to get where I'm coming from. It's a big deal for me.

Yes I do speak fluent Italian, not only "proper" school Italian, but also "bicycle" Italian as spoken by most bike mechanics and bike racers, who frequently tend not to have spent overly much time in school ;-)

I am fluent can also help with German, French, and Dutch, and in a pinch in Spanish.
