A "Moddified", custom 10lb mountain bike. Lack of punctuation makes it even lighter.

[h=2]Vintage Prize Schwinn LeTour - $2375 (Indianapolis /Carmel)[/h]

Date: 2012-07-25, 3:25PM EDT
Reply to: vnrtj-3162577557@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][Errors when replying to ads?][/SUP]

I am selling my Vintage Prize Schwinn Le Tour. The bike is more than 30 years old, made in the U.S.A. factory, Chicago.Extremely nice condition. It is all original, a true gem for a collector or bicycle enthusiast. This bike rides perfectly and looks immaculate. This bike was purchased by my father NEW, then handed to me. This model comes with precise gear shifters and other high end features of the time. Schwinn like this is a sought-after bicycle and belongs with someone who knows its value and capabilities. Please call 330-234-7371 with any questions. Do not email. This same model just sold on ebay for more than $2500.00 plus shipping, one also sold on a similar site for $2599. I will take cash only, possibly interested in a top of the line mountain bike for trade. I can send links in text with listings of this bike and model with similar sale prices. Will only meet at bank or someplace safe. Thanks.

I've seen this! That fork is so bent up, even when pointed out the seller refuses to admit that plain fact. Wacko!

i love how it's photographed; the fork is bent back so far that the wheel probably touches the downtube.

[h=2]vintage diamondback ascent 18speed-REDUCED - $75 (rapid city)[/h]

vintage daimondback ascent mountain bike with rear storage rack..good condition.. just needs a little tls and a rear brake cable...good rubber...comfy spring seat... i have seen these go easily up to 600..in this condition its worth over 300/350 im told by many....should go quick at 175...this is an 18 speed with 3 front and 5 rear sprockets....

What exactly is "tls"? A bonus in the ad are the outlandish value claims. And, you have to shudder at the staggering lack of basic math skills (or the ability to use a calculator) to arrive at 3 x5 =18.

Broken Bike - $5 (Rapid Valley)

Front fork was bent in a crash, Front big chain ring is bent also.
Everything else works.
$5 cash takes it home, or trade might work.
email or call 605-718-3038

This made me smile (beyond the backwards bar-ends) because it reminded me of the movie, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and the burned up Chrysler K-car:

Trooper: "You feel this vehicle is safe for highway travel?"
Del Griffith: "Yes, I do. It's not pretty, but it will get you where you want to go."
Trooper: "You got no outside mirror."
Del: "It's lost."
Trooper: "You have no functioning gauges."
Del: "No, not a one. However, the radio still works. Funny as that may seem, the radio's the only thing that's really working good. Don't ask me how."

I have 4 bike rims I am wheeling to trade for pretty much anything or willing to sale but price may vary per rim.
I have 2 Campagnolo back wheels and 1 Vuelta front wheel and 1 Mavic 700c front front wheel.
These rims will make a nice set for a bike.
All four rims come with wheels.

I get that there is a great amount of skill and time involved in creating such a... piece, but I don't get why all the completely useless things. To me, the winner of the "Most Fredly Bike" contest is more appealing. Also, the twisted metal, which I imagine is quite a feat of work to execute perfectly, utterly ruins the sensuous lines of what could be a very nice bike (without all the goofy add-ons). Maybe I'm just too much of a redneck...

I totally agree, the amount of skill and effort and money to create that thing...you have to somehow tip your hat to the guy. But it's just so over the top. You'd think the skill, money, time could've been put to a MUCH better enterprise. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm new to biking, but this just struck me as crazy.

Not a big deal if you only want to go in right hand circles... At least he showed good pics, the group and wheels are probably worth more than the asking price... if they are in better shape than the seat stay.

For $75, Just swap out for one of the nice vintage framesets you have hanging from your garage rafters and you have yourself a nice new modern bike.

NOT A BIG DEAL -I agree.

I have serious doubts of it being a Cannondale. Cannondales have nice flowing joints, not big visible welds like that. Also looks like it has stamped rear dropouts and a nutted rear axle. I also just noticed it has Gripshifters next to the stem. This is a relabeled GMC Denali. About $150 at Wally-World. The seller is not just a dick, but a crook as well.
