Actually, looking at some of the ads by that Derailleur seller, most look much better described. Somehow they've picked up a pile of NOS bikes?

Of course, they do have ambitious pricing.

Perhaps I'll give the derailleur a couple of days, then pop a note off to them.

Usually sellers are happy to have comments that will save them headaches later. Although, I did write to one company that posts an diagram of an old style Australian A23. They've confirmed that they're selling the new US style A23's, but so far have failed to update their diagram.

Small frame....

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...798863661.html

Nishiki 26in mtb - $80 (Madison, North)

...

45mm seat tube x 54mm top tube. Ready to ride!

Edit - dude's a flipper. has THREE bikes listed at the moment with similar frame sizes.

Oh man, it's contagious. Different seller, across town, evidently selling a VERY small handlebar:
https://madison.craigslist.org/bop/d...788435190.html

Deda 215 Anatomic Bar 26.0mm or 31.8mm, 44mm (outside to outside).

That is one thing I find very annoying. One has to assume adding "braze-on" is an attempt to add a fake key word.

It is amazing what all TRASH is picked up when one searches for "Colnago"

How many people that specifically are searching for braze-on, will suddenly change their minds and buy a clamp-on derailleur?

No one will. But that's not the intent, It's still click-bait. Serves two purposes. One, it increases the hit count on that item, so the "viewed in last hour" count is falsely increased. Two, the wayward visitor MIGHT click on "See seller's other items" link, and wind up buying a set of tires or a stem or some other thing that they "need" all of a sudden.

So yeah, it's keyword "injection", and it's click-bait, and indeed, it's irritating.

This bike was posted here on BF 9 years ago and,now its popped up on offerup for a cool 1K. Seller first posted for $100 then supposedly made a typo and added a 0.

Had scheduled to buy it tomorrow for 100 but of course had to pass on it after the price bump

Offer Up makes CL sellers look like professional photographers. At any rate, @malcala622's post provoked me to browse a bit in the Chicago area listings. In amongst a ton of cr*ap, I found:

Maybe not entirely wacky...

My dad used to take for rides with that little carrier. He had a 3 speed green Robinhood on which it was mounted.

$100 Reasonable condition bike.

The only reason I'm selling is because I upgraded to a faster one. Needs a few adjustments and it'll be tip top. Pm if interested

One would have to do careful analysis of that heap, but there could be much more than $100 worth of parts there.

Seat, seatpost, hubs, derailleurs, stem, bars, shifters, brakes, headset & BB, crankset, etc.

The problem is whatever happened to the rest of the bike could easily have impacted everything else.

Ideally that was a poor parking job, and road rash would be limited.

I remember riding in a seat like that when I was four or so. My parents rented bikes and rode us around Central Park.
