The term DUI Bars has been officially added to my C&V lexicon, alongside "Drewed" and "Khatfull'd" (which are two very different terms, btw...).

I always knew there was a genius name for that kind of crap bar style, C&V has finally delivered!

Yeah, that's pretty lame.

I'm not familiar with the bike, but I can't believe someone would actually try and sell those sway-back banana seats as "original. They can't be.

those in Chicago who know the market can tell you better but I would think $200 would be more reasonable for that bike, depending on the condition. a nice Ishwata DB frame a Shimano Sport LX. my catalog from when I worked in the Boston area then shows the retail was $498. the stem scares me though, it looks real high and if some dope was riding it like that it could have steerer problems.

OK from the contex in which it is used I gather 'Drewed' and 'Drewing' refer to making a fixed/SS out of road bike to include cutting bits of yes?

what does Khatfull'd mean?

Anyone else just facepalm super hard whenever you see one of those horrible Firenze GL5000's on CL for $200+? They were given away for free in the 80's because they were unsafe to sell.

I appreciate the style Chip Foose does things in, he's an amazing artist, and has built some beautiful machines.
But because of this forum, I just don't LIKE that he does any of it. Sure, he's only doing what so many other people have done, but, sometime he just takes a car and turns into something it's not really supposed to be.
Don't get me started on Pimp My Ride though.

+1

I read the sellers description before I noticed the plus 1 on the saddle.

Crazy, Lumpy Made in Italy Bianchi Celeste Green Accented Saddle. Not sure whos arse was in this last, but the top definitely had some lumpage opposite someones humps. Leather is completely intact and the entire saddle foundation is Celeste green - not sure if your humps will match. I will let you be the judge of that.

Email for more pics - this is a nice saddle save the lumpage.

actually at $400 this might be a great deal! it looks like Chorus or Athena but I believe the "Number Tab" might be a Zefal clampon pump peg LOL

VINTAGE 1950's/60's RALEIGH SPORTS TOURING BIKE - $250 (Northern New Jersey)

Reply to: sale-tc5cc-1717679566@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

This is a vintage mens Raleigh Sport 3 speed bicycle from the 1950s or 1960s. These bikes are becoming more and more collectible. Look on ebay and you will see many for sale in the $500-1000 range. As far as I know it is all original, and it is complete. It was last used about 8-9 years ago and has been stored inside my home since then. It has the original Sturmey Archer components and the original BROOKS saddle/seat (which sometimes go for over $100 alone). The chain is in decent shape and was simply not put back on (you'll see it OFF in the photos) because I didn't want to get my hands all oily while using my camera. It has the yellow paint, which I have learned in the rarest original color. It has a normal amount of paint chips and so forth. I have more photos that I can email upon request. Please contact me via email through the REPLY TO link above. $250.

My understanding is that it means to beautify something ugly using DIY means. I think I saw it coined here https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ll-d-a-saddle. and used again here https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...d-Bianchigirl)

I've always called them "bum bars."

It wasn't coined in the first link, but I can't find the original post that started it. It was previously applied to shining up some metal bits, I just found it funny, so I used it again in the saddle thread. The drew thread is pretty funny, I can't find the link for that one atm either.
