The bling factor would be crazy. So they probably will sell at that price. Besides, that's still cheaper than a full box of spokes, and might be just what someone is looking for.

Bling factor for a year. These were well known for rusting quickly into an untruable mess. I don't often say this, but one would be 10 times better off with galvanized by comparison.

Check out the question on this auction. He's not going for a fair market price, he's holding the bike for ransom:

Q: I am in the market for a large frame Bianchi, but you will receive no offers from anyone for this item until you either reduce the starting price to maybe $300 AND add at least six photos showing details and component manufacturer markings. A clear set of frame measurements is a must, as well. See you in the re-list! Nov-13-09
A: The price is not the starting price> ITS NOT A AUCTION ITS A SALE. BEST OFFER so if you want to make a offer? THEN Offer $300.00. If you need more info then ask,And i will for sure help with info. AS I SAY I DONT DO BIKES< THERE WILL NOT BE A RELIST IT WILL GO IN THE SCRAP PILL WITH THE REST of the bikes then into the crusher THANKS

Looking at the photos this appears to be the rare 'rotate-a-seat' Bianchi. Sure looks like it would be an exciting ride. He's also clearly aware of the importance of backgrounds to good photography, the junkyard setting makes me feel much better about the excessive rusting and apparently egg shaped back wheel :-)

So BMX bikes make you an idiot?

Elitist much? I'll give you the bad grammar but I understand exactly what he's selling, what a Kink saddle is, and why it has no brakes. There are more bikes out there than just C&V bikes.

A Fuji Series IV from the Department of Delusional Pricing. Would be a nice bike at half the price or a bit less.

I'd agree, cb400bill: the Fuji Series IV are at the top of the touring list with the Miyata 1000, Specialized Expedtion, Centurion Pro Tour, Univega Gran Turismo and Schwinn Voyageur SP -- any of those bikes can bring over $400 easily if in top shape... which this one appears to be.

This isn't mine, but I have the same frameset up for sale on CL for $100. My frame even has some rust issues. If it didn't I would be asking $200+ for the frameset. Vintage touring bikes seem to be really up in value the past year or two. I sold a minature 84' Trek 520 a few months ago for $350 easily.

"The size is not so large that even a woman could ride it."

Wait, does that mean a woman could ride it, or a woman couldn't ride it. I have heard that bikes have to be a certain size before women can ride them whereas men are able to ride bikes of all sizes :-D
