Coming back from a holiday I see yet more inane comments.

"I'm no phsychiatrist, don't ask me"

"IE No - but you could probably use one.
Give it a rest, man."

You mean I don't have the right to react to insults?
Or, when I do, sarcastic, patronising comments are OK?
Don't think so.
Check the next post which I entirely agree with:

"I think its kind of funny how obsessed people get about whether their vanity frame is made in Italy.

Wanting a 'real' Italian steel bike is like being a beer snob. Its beer, not wine. Instead of worrying about 'who' actually built your Olmo, Colnago, or De Rosa look for a Litespeed, Merlin, or Seven instead. It will be ten times the bike.

So much of the 'italian' thing, at least when it comes to frames, is pure vanity and ethos (The Colngago C40 and c50 maybe being the exception).

The truth is that America has put out some of the best frames ever.

I could('nt) care less whether a frame was really made in Italy. That Cannondale is going to to Taiwan, now that is something to lose sleep over."

Couldn't have put it better myself
Except that I would proffer some English, and a couple of European frame makers to be considered also.

How about debating the issue rather than insulting the writers of differing opinions?
Insult is the tool of politicians when they run out of logical argument.

Except that the English frame makers weren't, in fact, considered. And they shouldn't be - I agree that for the most part, the current US builders smoke the Brits as thoroughly as they smoke everyone else (Dario excepted).
Should have also mentioned Ron Cooper (don't know if he's still building) and a few of the better Japanese builders - e.g. Nagasawa, Samson.

Hey where's that British bike lover? You know what I can do with (4) 24 x 1 3/8 tires?

I don't know anyone who can use them, but I understand these would fit a British juvenile bike.

Ok, I've just about had it with this thread.
The trolling, anklebiting and general whinging in this thread stops now,
or the thread gets locked ( I'd hate to do that as I do believe it's a worhty topic)
and yellow and reds get thrown around.
