The little boys always seem to get stuck trying to put their shoes on.... It's hilarious, and the kids love it.

Robbie,

You and I spend a couple of years explaining to tainters that the MV Ironman is not pink, it's fuchsia, and when we finally admit it's pink, they say it's purple. I don't get it.

Chagrin.

After hitting "Auto Correct" 452 times to get the bike to look somewhat less pink, I was confronted by my wife....

"That's a pink bike. What do you want with a pink bike?"

"It's fuscia."

"It's pink, and you know it. In fact, it's hot pink."

"It's fuscia. You shop at Land's End, ... call 'em. It's fuscia."

"Knowing the diference makes you a fruitcake."

"OK, it's pink."

"Why do you have a pink bike?"

"Get me a beer."

"Are you sure you don't want a wine cooler?"

"This is over. You win. Leave me alone."

"Is that what the nail polish was for?"

"I said you win. Yes. Leave me alone."

That is the man! I looked into his story when I was researching my daughter's Mercier. I was struck with admiration for his courage and loyalty for his team (factory Mercier) and the sport in general. I saw some vids of him on You Tube — an old man signing autographs and so on, but still exhibiting power, vitality and exuberance.

LOL! When I saw this pic of the great M. Poulidor, I felt better about what I wear when I'm thrashing around training down my blood pressure.

Those are both great stories!

When I used to race in the late 80's, one of my teammates had a Merckx with a gorgeous deep pink to pearl white fade. Someone on here may have a bike with that paint job, I'm not sure; I've seen it in the Merckx gallery on another forum. But back to the teammate... Mike was a track rider who also painted buildings for a living. He was big enough that I don't recall anyone giving him flack for riding a bike that was at least half pink! Seriously, though, it was a great paint job.

Fuji calls it Wine silver, others call it Champagne ? It's not really pink but a metallic silver with a slightly reddish hue to it. Probably why the cabling is done in burgundy and not black like a true metallic silver color would be ?

25 years old, pretty much original, just a seat change and bottom bracket, not to mention tires & tubes:

Passed this along to my gf (we're having a similar conversation in regard to my Holdsworth tandem; just substitute "salmon" for "fuschia") and she was vastly amused

Here's a semi-decent photo of mine. An early-1990's (I think -- someone else chime in if you know more) Bianchi on which I've done three RAGBRAIs so far.

Here's a shot that includes the helmet and my latest addition, a Brooks B17.

Hillarious, that's what I think the Fuji wine silver looks like, a wine cooler. Flourescent lighting and even the intensity of the noon sun made it difficult to see that day I bought it. Afterwards, and to this day, I try to convince myself it's not as pink as it appears sometimes. Need a ruling here, salmon & fuschia can they be used interchangeably ?

Thread bump.

I remembered this thread while looking for ideas on what bar tape, cables, and saddle to put on this 85 Trek 770. Here it is in "as received" condition.

There are some great bikes in this thread. Anyone else have a pink bike?

Back on page 4 I had a Bridgestone 400, well this is a different one, so I'll assume it's ok to post it. The lavender on this one is better shape than on the other and this one has been updated to all Shimano 105.
