There's a 23" version on ebay and Washington DC craigslist, same pics on both. I've been spending way to much time drooling over the pics luckily/unluckily for me it's local pickup only and I'm in Texas.

I'm not sure what these are really worth but it looks a lot like a few that I've seen sell on ebay lately for a lot more money than this is listed for.
Its too small for me, maybe someone else is interested

10 speeds
Campagnolo Nuovo Record drivetrain
Fiamme rims

Like I've said before, we're a cheap lot here unless it's exactly what we want, then the sky's the limit. And this is a bit odd, small and cheap.

I think the lettering on the fork blades is in-service bling. Never seen that before on a Trek of that era.

Serial number would be the most telling.
I don't know a whole lot about Treks, but I do know if you see a vintage Trek with the decals on the seattube and the downtube like that, buy now and figure it out later.

Fairly decent-looking Trek 890. Looks unmolested.

1984 Trek 890 -- $300 (Milwaukee, WI)
I'm selling my Trek 890 bike. It is a really sweet riding bike, and made for one year only back in 1984.

This bike is ideal for a loaded tourer, durable commuting bike, or gravel grinder. It is all original except for the tires and saddle. Comes with the original Jim Blackburn rear rack as well.

Frame size is a 21" I believe. I'm 5'8 and it fits me perfectly, so anyone around 5'5 to 5'10 should be pretty comfortable on it.

1984 Trek catalog (PDF): click.

^^^^^^ Aaaaaand, it's gone. Must've been a killer price. But yeah, what is it with those '70s/'80s Raleighs? They actually come up fairly frequently on CL here, everything from the Japanese Rampars to the high-ten Grand Prixes (?) to the Pros, but I'd say 75% are 60-ish cm frames.

People, people, please copy and paste the text and photos of the ad in addition to the URL, so that the link deadness which occurs when the ad is pulled does not dim the greatness of your find.

A nice tall Alpina at a good price.

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...616092712.html

for thumpism:
Selling an Alpina road bike in great condition... just needs a little minor clean up, and rear wheel skewer. This bike is feather lite for it's size, and currently weighs in at 20 pounds without rear wheel. The bike is so lightweight because it uses Italian Columbus Cromor tubing, which is equivalent, or better than Reynolds. The bike is in great shape overall, and the components are top grade Shimano 105 components. Replacing the handlebar wraps may not be a bad idea, and the bike uses 700c size wheels and tires for a wide range of tire options. This is a high grade, true racing bike, and ready to ride once the wheel gets a rear quick release skewer, which will probably cost you $5.00. Asking for $120, or best offer. You will be pleasantly surprised on how lightweight this bike is. Send email if interested. Thanks for looking!
