In "a very sorry" state... I'm afraid it is rusted through and kept outside for a long time (look at those pedals). Needs love and a lot of it.

Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra frame/fork. 57cm square, c-c, SLX tubing, Team Telekom paint scheme (this is not a team bike.)

Paint has a number of chips and a few touch-ups; drive side chain stay is the worst part. Chrome is in good condition and there is no rust.

Being sold as frame/fork only, but includes a serviceable Shimano 600 headset (would benefit greatly from new bearings,) seatpost binder bolt, dropout adjustment screws and downtube cable stops.

Pickup in Somerville, near Union Sq., or I can meet in the Cambridge/Somerville area.

I've paid less, but it would build up as a heck of a bike for somebody.

They ride beautifully.

Great color scheme!

My size too!

from a local frequent CL bike seller. I have the same bike (running as a fixed gear) and IMHO this is one of the best kept secrets in vintage frames. It has some French funkiness, but the Stronglight hardware is quality. FWIW, just passing along with no connection.

Cannondale Touring - Road Bike - $350 (Medfield, MA)

Date: 2010-10-18, 1:03PM EDT
Reply to: sale-kwb4q-2012439619@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Looking for a new home, a good condition Cannondale touring/road bike $350 or best cash offer. Bike includes the following features:
  • All aluminum frame (makes the bike light weight and strong)
  • Suntour rear deraileur index shifting (6 speeds)
  • Suntour 3 cog front deraileur friction shift
  • 18 possible speeds overall
  • New tires
  • New brake pads
  • Recently tuned up
  • Various panners and pack attachment locations
  • Made in the USA
  • Ground to top tube measurement, approximately 33.5 inches
  • Center of crank to the top tube, approximately 22 inches
I'm 5 foot 10 inches tall with an inseam of approximately 32 inches. I always felt the bike was a little too big for me and the top tube, when straddling the bike, was much too close to certain vital organs. I recommend this bike for someone with a longer inseam and somewhere in the range of 5 foot 11 inches or taller.
While this bike is perfectly suited for road biking, it really shines as a touring bike. It has various points where you can easily attach panners and packs for long distance riding. Originally bought the bike with the intention of doing some cross country riding, but never had the opportunity. If you've got dreams of long distance bike touring, then is the bike for you.
$350 or best offer. As all things on Craig's List, cash talks.

A niche market to be sure...but if someone is looking for a totally mint, 1978 64cm Raleigh Competition GS....here it is

'78 Vintage Raleigh Competition GS Orig. Owner - $600 (Fort Collins, CO)

I am the original owner of this mint condition 25-inch (64 cm) frame-size Raleigh Competition GS bike. I bought it new in San Francisco in April 1979. The frame was made in England by Carlton. Before I rode it I had the brakes and crank set upgraded to Campagnolo Record equipment. The original sales receipt, warranty and maintenance book come with the bike. Also included is the Silca tire pump bought with the bike. The tires are Continental but are getting old. Believe it or not, this bike has been ridden less than 3500 miles! All equipment on it is original from the day I bought it. The bike has never been crashed. Its paint and decals are in excellent condition. All components work well. The Brooks saddle is like new. Technical specs. as best I know them and could find out are:

Year: 1978
Model: Competition G.S.
Frame Size: 25 in (64 cm)
Color: Black
Frame Builder: Carlton England
Frame Material: Reynolds 531 Butted Tubes, Forks and Stays with Campagnolo Fork Ends
Lugs: Campagnolo
Fork: Reynolds 531 Taper Guage with Vagner Crown and Campagnolo Ends
Handlebar: Raleigh Italienne Alloy
Stem: Raleigh Alloy
Brakes: Campagnolo Record
Crank Set: Campagnolo Record 52 & 42 chain rings, 170 arm length
Derailers: Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport
Saddle: Brooks Professional
Seat Post: Campagnolo 27.5
Pedals: Campagnolo Gran Sport w/ Brevete Toe Clips
Hubs: Campagnolo with double budded spokes
Rims: Weinmann 700c

Nice PX-10 for $400 with no saddle or $475 with fairly new Brooks Pro. Looks like a square deal. Not cosmetically good but I sense the mechanical condition is good, based on what he writes and how he writes.

57cm 197x Peugeot PX10 - $400 (oakland north / temescal)

A Peugeot 57cm squared PX10, PX-10, PX 10, with Reynolds 531 frame and fork. All original components. Brand spankin' new Giro tubular tires (taped not glued) and kool stop brake pads (I have the old Mafac ones if you want to get the VO replacement inserts). Stronglight 93 cranks (changed the pedal threading to 9/16" english from the original french threading and it was done right and well), simplex prestige derailleurs, stronglight competition headset, original stem and bars, Mafac levers, simplex clamp on downtube shifters, normandy lux hubs, french tubular rims, new cloth tape, velox bar plugs, brand new cables and housing, Mafac 'racer' brakes. Wheels are straight, shifts well, stops well. Some rust, no dents, bike rides straight with your hands off the bars, extremely high 'corn cob' gearing. Comes with a Brooks Pro I bought last year, don't know what happened to the original saddle. Also comes with a neat Zeus tubular holder (mounts under the seat) that was given to me by a friend at which point it was 'NOS'. Lastly, the jockey wheels were worn when I got the bike so I replaced them with 'NOS' simplex jockey wheels, BAM!

Does not come with pedals.

$475 with the saddle, $400 without it.

Built the bike up, took it for a ride, I like my Bianchi better.

Earlier in the season I sold my Team Kelme Century frameset for a similar price. If it looks as good in person as it does in the ad and the headsets OK $500 is realistic. Expensive, but realistic.

Seems high to me (probably because a Miyata 1000 for $200 was posted on the ATL CL and I missed it), but might be a fair price for someone tall. I'll be driving from Atlanta to Raleigh and back on Thursday, so in addition to my normal willingness to pack and ship, I can deliver Atlanta bikes if you live along (or not far off) that route.

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bik/2013840229.html

25" Miyata 1000...classic tourer - $500 (Suwanee)

25" frame (about 62cm)

1982 Miyata 1000...the bike that the late, great Sheldon Brown called "quite possibly the finest off-the-shelf touring bike ever made", in very good, original condition.

double-butted, lugged CrMo frame.. Tange falcon headset; SR Randonneur bars; SR Royal II stem (120mm); Dia Compe cneter-pull cantilever brakes with new shoes; SunTour Cyclone derailleurs front and rear; SR Super Apex triple crank (52-47-34);Original Ariake anotomic saddle (not pictured); original toe clips and straps; Rear rack (new trunk bag included); Please note: sprung Brooks saddle not included...just wanted to show you how GREAT it looks on this bike! https://www.flickr.com/photos/96197190@N00/4980986236/

paint and decals a decent...minor chips in paint...no rust. Miyata decals in great shape... "One Thousand" decals nearly gone (they weren't clear-coated back then!)

Wow, beautiful Hetchins Magnum Opus (59cm) in excellent condition!

(...though I don't understand why people set frames like this directly onto concrete to take photos. At least put a towel down. The other day, I saw a nice Italian race frame photographed sitting in a bed of rough rocks.)

Oh c'mon. It's not like they just toss it. Gently placing something somewhere does no more than a little pebble would on the road.
