Novara Road Bike - $150- Alpine, CA
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7223597956727/
Well it says "Nova" on frame, and doesn't look especially vintage, but it does have some semi-vintage parts I think.
Are the Record cranks worth much? Any intel on the bike in general... I couldn't find it online.

Older Raleigh DL-1(?) in St. Augustine, FL, $350 - I'm not positive about when Raleigh changed the font on the downtube markings, but this one looks 60s or earlier to me.

The seller says in the ad, he is a bike mechanic and it is in drive away condition. I'm a bit skeptical, main photo shows the rear derailleur cable is not even in the socket.
thanks

Unsure what aluminum Panasonic this is ...........and probably seller doesn't either
Doubting someone paid "thousands"
Might suggest a request for a full photo.
https://rochester.craigslist.org/bik...640115919.html
I don't know much about the bicycle other than it came from Japan through a family member that was in the U.S.M.C. and he paid a few thousand dollars for it.
It's is very good condition other than it might need a couple of tubes... it holds air, but only for a few days.
First person with $100 takes it!
Please text as I am very busy. Thanks!

I had to use "hella" given my location...which is the only downside cause it's way far south (San Diego Co.?) from the North of Cali, so hella inconvenient!

Encourage definitely! $650 very reasonable price for Campy SR group - clean. Cosmetically bike looks good and I see no rust on the chrome. The tri color original paint is sought after on this bike. Who cares if you need to re-adjust the RD cable! I would buy this right now if it was my size! Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

$100 says this bike has absolutely nothing to do with the REI Novara brand. There is no way that REI would spend the extra money to register and trademark NOVA to release one model - doesnt make sense at all when all they would want to do is continue building the Novara brand name recognition. From my quick research NOVA is a manufacturer based in India which probably explains the gnarly welds on the BB. https://www.novacycle.com/
"The Nova frames are from Chuck originally-he told me that the frames are straight gauge 7005-NOT Columbus Altec2 as labeled.I have seen these frames and they are definitely not Altec 2.They are heavy for alu.-approx.4 lbs.,but well finished with some welds sanded. The Ebay seller is buying them cheap from Chuck and marking them up.They used to be on Chucks website for $75 with the Martec fork $35 extra.Chuck told the buyers of these frames they are not Columbus and even advised me not to purchase one because he knew I would not be happy. The reselling of the mis-labeled frames on Ebay has nothing to do with Chuck's now defunct and completely honest business."

well...maybe not made in India, but not made from Columbus ALU tubing either. And not worth much more than the components...here's some scuttlebutt:

Now I am actually curious who Chuck is/was (last name) and what real brand did he sell before these swap meet bikes were sold with improper tubing labels....

I'll flip it, probably won't make much but I like getting them back on the road .
It seems like around 1980 model based on components, what do y'all think? It's CroMo. made in Japan..... Miyata? Not sure if rims are original or not... they are basic Araya 27 x 1.25 but would 1980 wheels have a plastic disc and those style wheel reflectors?
Anyway, I'm not sure how it happened but I've got three 1980's Univegas in the stable at the moment.
Maybe head badge will help date it

I took your advice and picked it up. Got it for $40. Here are a few pics as bought. Minimal rust, should clean up easily. Needs some lube and adjustment.

Hope the effort is worth it flip wise but never not a good thing to keep one of these on the road.
