I think this is a PLX 8 Model, the two color bands above and below the lion shield. Around 1955, what are your thoughts?

Or you could have been very quick and gotten both with what is possibly the earliest Cinelli Supercorsa frame in original paint known as a bonus. When I first saw it the view counter was at 3, it must have gone in minutes.

It didn't sell for that price. Someone made on offer off of ebay and the auction was pulled. An earlier version sold in about an hour, frame only, for 2000 euro. It would have been me if I hadn't just dropped a ton on my wife's 50th birthday present.
What's the rear hub? Something French?
Also, I think it is a Model B with a replacement fork. I have never seen an SC with internal cable routing. As for a date, 1953-1955. 53 was the start of the fastback seat stay and 55 was the end of the internal cable routing and the pillbox graphics.

It was a buy It Now so why would they make an off Ebay offer?
I saw that beautiful Model B with the Frejus style stay treatment and Cinelli seat binder clamp and couldn't swing it either. I was weakening and went to look again and it was gone.I saw the outing on the CR list and figured that helped.
I think the fork might be original, if you look at the early Ron Kitching catalogues it calls the British color option an ivory with three chrome bands on the seattube and a chrome fork. I have not even seen a picture of a pre '55 and the model B's I have seen are usually simplex geared. The internal Brake routing does give me pause but I still wouldnt rule it out. The '52 derailleur (I cant tell which of the two versions) leads me to believe it is one of the first bikes to have the fastback seatstays.
The Hub looks like a Bismark

Buy it now for 390? The bar end is worth that. When something is too good to be true, it is 99.999999% of the time too good to be true. I'd bet the 390 that it sold for substantially more than 390, if it were a real sale at all.
For the fork, yes, I'd say never say never. If there were good pics, we could see. I can see the decal that would say either Model B or SC, but obviously can't read it. Also, the early Cinellis out of Germany tend to be Bs. As for the gearing, I have seen Simplex, Huret and Campagnolo.
The 52 derailleur was not a part of the sale of the Cinelli so I don't understand that connection. fwiw, late 40s Cinellis had cambio corsa and Paris Roubaix dropouts. This guy is my hero.

As to the selling price, there are many parts on that bike that are worth more than 390 euro. I can't say what happened in the sale or if it was real but stranger things have happened. If it was a fake where did they get the pictures? If I had seen it first I might probably have offered far more to cement the sale. I don't speak german but putting it through a translator doesn't lead me to believe it was anything but what was pictured.
You are right. without real pictures we will never know exactly what it is.

That particular bike is my grail. not one like it, that one. I even like the restoration, i.e. some new Cinelli decals and nothing else changed. It's one of the pictures that got me into Cinellis in the first place. I hope he is still riding it at L'eroica.
