This is so tempting.
Completely agree. That one's been on Boston CL for probably 3 weeks now...not sure why it's not been snapped up.

OK, weird free-association, but there should be a cycling equivalent to Patrick F McManus' "Gunrunning" (originally titled "How to Buy a ***... Without Your Wife Finding Out") in The Grasshopper Trap. Unfortunately bikes don't stash so well in the gunsafe... Fortunately I have a large, difficult-to-access attic in the garage that my wife doesn't dare to enter...

edit: apparently the word g-u-n cannot stand on its own and is filtered out. Oddly, it can be part of a compound word.

From the copy it sounds like he's just selling the frame, not the group.

This just sold for $610. I'd be happy to pay this price for a clean, original paint, Paramount frameset in this size.

Lot of Vintage Bikes - $300

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I went and picked up the Raleigh today:

At first I thought it was another SBDU Team Pro frame (!). I have one in 531 from 1978 in the same dark blue, same lugs, same decals. But this one has Suntour Pro drops, different seat stay caps, and chromed stays under the paint. Also the 80's head badge. Campy RD and cranks are dated '84, but the decal looks late '70's to me. I'm assuming a MIJ 531 special order frame of some sort? I can't find it in any catalog. Rims are Mavic tubulars, brakeset and pedals are Superbe, stem/bars are SR (same as my SBDU bike). Stronglight alloy headset. A pleasant mystery, and in my size (62cm CTT). Thanks again ashemon.

Beautiful Bob Jackson Road bicycle

[h=2]Beautiful Bob Jackson Road bicycle - $950[/h]

condition: like new size / dimensions: 55cm/54cm

Selling my beautiful Bob Jackson Steel road bicycle. This bicycle is in excellent condition and definitely will be a head turner. I work as a bicycle mechanic at Harris Cycle and put all new cables and gave it a tune up. The bicycle is specked with mainly shimano 105, shifters, RD, Crankset, and brakes, it also has a campy chorus threaded headset and nitto stem. For a wheelset you get the smooth and solid ride of DT Swiss rims to 105 hubs, it rides like a dream! I could go on but the bicycle speaks for itself, Bob Jackson is held in regard as one of the best UK frame builders and this bicycle was made still under his watch before he died in 1999. Although they are still making Bob Jackson you are looking at $1,500 just frame and fork alone. The top tube is 55cm center to center and the seat tube is 54cm center to top. If you are in the newton area and want to come by Harris Cycle and check it out just come to the service department and ask for Kyle aka BT.

This is a very clean and classic Italian racer. It features a full Campagnolo 16 speed group, predominantly Chorus level with Mirage shifters. The group includes the Campagnolo seat post, headset, and custom built Campagnolo wheels (Chorus hubs, Ypsilon aero rims, bladed spokes.). The bike has a beautiful, high quality finish. The bike has been very well cared for. It shines.
