"THE" Raleigh is finished!

Well, I got THE Raleigh together and ready to go. The paint turned out pretty well for a shaker-can job, and I'm really happy with how smooth the BB and drivetrain operate. Considering it is a mix-and-match of old and new stuff, I am pleased with the result. What do y'all think?

Before - as a pile o' parts:

And after - a finished ride:

I'm impressed, always like to see a project come together...especially a bike with a tall frame

Thanks! This is for my youngest brother, who is 6 foot 6. It took some scrounging, but was able to find this 25" (i.e. 63cm) frame, which should work for him.

Bikes: S&M Black Bike, FIT 3.5s, KHS Solo One (destroyed in roof rack incident), Bianchi Pista (sold), Trek 6000 SS(temporarily dismantled), Trek 850 1x8 , Generic SS 20" folder, Kona Shonky, Sunday Wave-C, Surly Cross Check

Nice job!
I wouldn't have known it was a rattle can job, if you didn't say so.

I'd steal it.

Very nice pile of parts. Awesome bike, though I'd need a trampoline to get on it.

And stilts to pedal it!
Well, at least it will get my brother some transportation. And the preponderance of steel parts should guarantee it lasts at least 6 months!

An added bonus is that the triple crank - which I didn't realize was a triple until I broke it out of the shipping bag - centerlines well enough that all three rings could be utilized if a long cage RD is installed. A cheap and easy upgrade for my brother should he decide he wants to do it.

Just my 2 cents... the down tube needs shifters to complete the picture. and fill that empty space.

Yeah, the fork rake does look odd in the photo. I think you're actually seeing just a bit of the back of the far side fork being "added" to the nearside fork at this angle. It rides straight and true, though.
And, yes, the new owner is already contemplating upgrades (crank, downtube shifters, microadjust seat, etc).

I love it! I've done a couple of paint jobs myself and found them to hold up as well as the professional ones that I was unhappy with! You might look at www.hlloydcycles.com to get some authentic Raliegh decals to finish it up!
