1: My weight weenie...I think I just need tires and assembly now.
2: Trek 2120... Carbon, Utlegra 9 speed brifters and clipless pedals...All firsts for me! Just need to get tires and slap it together.
3: Put brakes and fenders on my fixed gear. Parts in hand.
4: Do a bar swap on my Raleigh Superbe to make it a bit more correct. Parts in hand.

Just need to stop being lazy. My latest excuse is the terribly cold weather and my "bike room" is packed to the ceiling so no room for tinkering inside...

. . . Why only four?

1) Ca. 1935 Gloria. I'm not sure it's as early as '35, but that's what it was listed as when I bought it. I meant to get around to cleaning it last winter, but didn't. I've taken as much rust and grime off of it as I can. I just need to put it together.
2) 1970 Masi chrome pista. I bought it recently. I'm hoping that because it has fewer parts than a road bike, it shouldn't take me too long to collect the parts.

Just getting back into riding so I only have two projects:
1 - ~1985 Cilo. I've owned it since 88, it's been unridden in the garage for too long. I had it repainted in ~92 after an Ultegra RD failure took out the dropout. It was really dirty and had some surface rust on the fork, but fortunately I had built it pretty well and everything was well-preserved. So far I've disassembled, washed/ waxed the frame & fork, put on a set of Cyclomundo decals, got new Vittorias and new cables, and done some cleaning/polishing of components. I'm trying to find the original Shimano 600 crank, shift levers, hub and RD.
2 - 24" 3 speed Raleigh Space Rider. This was my first road bike when I was 10 or so, and my 10y/o son discovered it in my parents' attic last weekend. The paint is pretty trashed with tons of scratches, but looks like nothing more than surface rust. My son wants to repaint and restore it and can't wait to ride it. Pictures forthcoming in a separate thread...

1. 1985+/- Gianni Motta Personal 2000. Stripped and ready for paint - but it'll probably be spring since I have to paint outside. I've found a place to straighten the front fork, but haven't shipped it to 'em yet. Still have a few 74xx components that I would like to have, but could complete the bike (in period) w/o them.

2. I won a new Vassago Fisticuff frame/fork in a raffle. Now I have to collect parts to complete it as a cross bike. The only thing I have so far are some canti's (in white). White Sante group perhaps?

3. Finish up a 2003 Trek 1000 that's just a resting spot for the components I've placed on it while waiting to purchase a real frame. All I need to do is mount a tire and swap out the front wheel.

4. My real project is to catalogue, photograph, and sell off the stuff I know I'm not going to use in the future.

That's rough...I've been contemplating that as well but when I finally decide to do it I end up having waking nightmares about not being able to finish a project because of a part I sold off 20 years ago...It's an affliction! Does anyone really need 10 pairs of Hi-E hubs and every Ofmega derailleur ever produced?

first up is the Bianchi Vento 603 frame, which is at the shop having the headset and a BB installed then I am building it with the Sante bits I collected. the wheels look to be a mix of a STX rear hub and Deore ($40 for the pair not bad) laced to FIR silver tubulars.

next and somewhat concurrent the Bianchi Boarala is headed off to repaint soon then it will be rebuild with the Nexus that is on it but maybe with full fenders and moustache bars.

3 might be a Ti Bianchi frame I picked up but I might try and sell it cheap and funnel that money into the Cornelo project.

4 is streamlining my life and trying to get ready for a possible transfer to the west in the spring.

1. 1986 Schwinn Passage - the works with conversion to 700C, aero levers and bar-end shifters

2. 1984 Fuji Touring Series V - needs freshening so I can ride it to decide whether it fits me or not

3. 1980s Torker 280 BMX - all chrome bike I picked up for nothing because it seemed cool. It will probably be my first experiment with oxalic acid

4. 1990ish Santa Fe MTB - bought because it was cheap and has big (23") frame and biopace crank

1. 50s Raleigh frame into a 2 speed fixed gear pathracer using a Bendix hub instead of the AW I usually use for this insanity. Most stuff on hand.
2. Prep the $6 Raleigh Sports womens bike for my daughter to ride in the Lake Pepin 3 Speed Tour. Just need time.
3. 1962-65 Robin Hood Lenton Sport total overhaul/restoration. May take a few winters.
4. Find how I let my garage become the mess it is. May take precedent over other three.

My bicycle waiting list isn't as nice as some of those that I read, but here is my work for the winter.

1. Raleigh Superbe - waiting on rims that I ordered about a month ago. Received a mtn bike rim and 20" tubes by mistake. Steel rims currently on the bike are shot. Cables, brake pads, and chain will need to be replaced as well.

2. Fuji Opus - will get new tires and rim tape. Replace Modolo brakes. The bike will also need a tune-up and regreasing.

3. Fuji Special Road Racer - just got new racks and will probably be getting fenders soon. I'm considering new wheels, but I really like 27" wheels and the hubs currently on the bike.

4. Fuji America frame - may build it up and sell, may take part in Velo Cheapo, may sell the frame/fork. I just won this a few days ago, with the original intent to scavenge the crankset, but now I am wondering about options for it.

Uhmmmm do you happen to have the Ofmega plastic derailleur in pink too..............not that there's anything wrong with that!:rolleyes:

1. I picked up a Gitane TdF frame at a bike swap, it has very nice French chrome but it needs paint. I am trying to decide if I want to take on a paint project.

2. Build a pair of wheels for Mrs. K's Paramount. I have all the ingredients, just need time.

3. Finish the wheel I am building for my son's friend. I plan on finishing it this weekend.

4. Sort stuff and find items for ebay sale to build the PayPal account back up.

1.) 1974 Bottecchia Special - Project Rosebud, recreating the bike of my youth: I have almost all of the parts now. The only thing I'm missing is a nice Valentino front derailleur. Now comes the hard (expensive) part - some minor changes to braze-ons, paint, and decals.

2.) 1966 Bottecchia Professional - long way to go on this one. I have an assortment of parts now: Record headset, bottom bracket, rear derailleur, and a really nice NOS pair of Universal Mod 51 sidepulls. Obviously I still need a lot of parts. The big expense though will be getting the frame ready as it needs a repair on the head lug which will require rechroming and of course it will need paint and decals.

That Fuji America sounds interesting.
For me:
1. 1972 Fuji special road racer. Built new wheels with the old hubs. Tracked down some parts at the local bicycle co-op. Replaced all bearings, except the pedals. Just need to put it all back together again.

I seem to have developed what writers call a block. If I finish this bike, I'll want to get another fixer upper.

Yup! With a matching pink front...Both NOS! Just need to find the pink shifters then that set will be complete...I've also got the blue one and a couple sets of black....I think I have a problem!
I've been hunting for the orange and also the grey ones for years as well...

There are SO many more, so I may throw in the towel for all but these four... I have a few lugged MTB's that
I want to put bull moose bars on, a large Panasonic MTB I want to build into a fat tired roadie, and many
others including an 89 Team Miyata bare frame. That one may be my single speed, since a set of Dura Ace 7400 would
not be financially feasible at this point. So many projects, so little money and time.. These shorter days are killing me!,,,,BD

1921 Henderson/Schwinn. Was my grandfather's 11th birthday present. This one has been stalled. Have all the parts except the front fender stays. I think I'll get busy on it tomorrow.

1. 1992 Miyata Nine 16 - Have been gathering NOS Dura-Ace components, a Brooks Honey B17 with copper rivets, Nitto Noodle Bars, thinking about Velocity Chukker Rims.
2. 1980s Univega Supra Sport (Japanese Frame) converting to Fixed Gear and may paint if I like it.
3. 1992 Miyata Triple Cross - Changing to Nitto Moustache Bars & general tune up, maybe a new saddle.
Three projects are more than enough for me. In fact, I may stay away from yard sales tomorrow so I don't accidently find another. :)
