Bikes: '64 Bianchi CDM, '62ish Altenburger Cinelli Mod B, '63-64 Cinelli SC, 69 Rene Herse Competition, '71 Gitane SC, '73 Cinelli SC, '73-74 Colnago Super,, '73-74 Cinelli SC, '78ish counterfeit Confente, '82 Medici Gran Turismo, '67ish Mondia Speciale

'87 Trek 520 (stock components). Need to finish a total overhaul (bike was covered in 20 yrs. of corrosion and dirt) and buy some fenders, so that this can be my winter rider/commuter. I took my Geoffrey Butler for a spin on the lakefront path Sunday and came home with it covered in dirt and salt. Ouch.

Bikes: Too many to list, all titanium or steel.

1. Late 1970's Motobecane Mixte - Needs center pull cable (one long enough to reach around the seatpost)
2. 1987 Fuji Espree - Just cleaning, greasing, tuning
3. 1984 Trek 400 - New saddle, greasing bearings, new cables
4. Early 1990's Lugged Giordana XL-Strada - just got new 3T seatpost and stem that need to be installed, looking for a "cheap" brooks saddle.

I'm flush.

Well..... I wanna put Cinelli bars on the Cinelli and the Palo Alto. Got the bars - actually, I've had them for a while now. I find myself unable to overcome the ennui. I just don't feel like working on bikes.

2. I won a new Vassago Fisticuff frame/fork in a raffle. Now I have to collect parts to complete it as a cross bike. The only thing I have so far are some canti's (in white). White Sante group perhaps?

3. Finish up a 2003 Trek 1000 that's just a resting spot for the components I've placed on it while waiting to purchase a real frame. All I need to do is mount a tire and swap out the front wheel.

4. My real project is to catalogue, photograph, and sell off the stuff I know I'm not going to use in the future.
Updates to 12-09 list:
1. Painted, need to fill in some pantos and apply decals. Have all the parts to build it up.
2. Bike is built up as an IGH, has been ridden in cross practice runs, but I have some ideas to change it up a bit.
3. Rode it for a season, now the f&f is sold. Components are on my Dardo.
4. Ha Ha, not even close to starting

68 Lejeune Tour de France: Just build it up, that's barely even a "project".
78 Carabela Super Carrera: This is a project: I need to strip and refinish the frame, make the decals, recover the saddle, build the wheels. I also have to scrounge all the parts for it.

79 Miyata Gran Touring- Parts are scattered all-over the house, and my arm is still sore from scrubbing on the wheels (But, it's getting there.)
82? Rossin Record- This is the sequel and more authentic build to my first build. (Just waiting for the 27.0 seat post and should be done. The translucent white Benotto tape is amazing. It's the first time I've used it.)
86 C'dale R400- I've almost completed the paint removal and then to the PC'er. (This is a long term project.)
90? Mongoose Maneuver MTB- I picked this up on a whim from the junkyard for $7. Most of it is soaking in a OA bath. We'll see what happens.

Bikes: Cannondale T700s and a few others

84 Fuji T III Needs paint. Probably paint it more in T V colors (Emerald metallic with gold head tube).

The Raleigh that's not a Raleigh is my Contructeur build. VO fenders, Rear rack here. needs paint.

93 Bridgestone XO-2 I picked up for the wife is in the parts collecting phase. Paint is a little messed up. Still trying to decide where to go.

84 Trek 420. My beater that I have fallen in love with. It needs paint but I sort of dig the weal used look. It will get the fenders off the Raleigh eventually

Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

P. O. S. (Huffy?) cruiser, to be given a snazzy paint job and built up as a beach house beater mainly for my son's use.

Raleigh Twenty, currently lying in pieces in my basement, needs reassembly and... dunno.

Velox "Alvin" track bike, 1930's, as described in this thread. Needs a new paint job and reproduction graphics, reassembly, etc; but should be cool when finished.

Moulton Stowaway... currently built up as a modern bike with Sturmey Archer 8 speed hub, but I'm going to return it to stock and... probably sell it.

Cycling wise, just to get some DT shifters onto the 1980 RRA. It's a back to basics build, fenders, bar end shifters and rack have been removed.

I only have 4 bikes in the stable at the moment but all need a bit 'o something:

1972 Fuji Newest
  • Light true of front wheel.
  • Bearing adjustment - front wheel.
  • Couple good shakedown rides.
1980 Fuji America
  • Switch CST 700x28 tires to Pasela 700x32 (tires on hand).
1984 Fuji Touring Series V
  • Canti adjustment.
  • Adjust rear dropout screws a little better.
  • Disassemble and wash/clean used front and rear panniers.
  • Need three matching semi-vintage looking water bottles.
1988 Fuji Opus IV
  • Install NOS 110mm Dura-Ace 7400 stem en route from Sweden.
  • Get handlebar shim for the same.
  • Keep eye out for HS-7600 Dura-Ace headset.
  • Keep eye out for PD-7750 Dura-Ace pedals.
  • Get Kool-Stop salmon pads.
  • Finish tubular wheelset.
  • Oops, get tires for the tubular wheelset too.
And with that I'm out of wrenching for a while unless an obvious and lucrative flip comes around. Time to ride all these babies.

2. Complete restoration of a Hercules Renown circa 1920ish

4. Come the the realization that I've got 6 projects going on and I don't need to buy any more work.

3. Overhaul '89 Paramount to Dura Ace...once #2 is done, this one starts because its what I am riding
4. Rehab work on '89 RB-1 and '85 Panny Team America...old projects, but I had to take a cycling break because of my #%(&ing knee

Bikes: 86 Katakura Silk, 87 Prologue X2, 88 Cimarron LE, 1975 Sekai 4000 Professional, 73 Paramount, plus more

1. Continue rebuilding the dumpy duplex we bought in February. Next step is fixing all the holes in the ceilings (3' by 4' or so), then repairing exterior siding and repainting (just finished removing all of the crap aluminum siding). Then I need to run power to the detached garage so I can use it. Figure this to be a 2 year project.

2. Finish my DA STI install on my personal Prologue.

3. Convert tri Quintana Roo bike that I picked up Monday to more of a road orientation (drop bars, STI, easier gearing, etc), and see how it rides (also DA STI). Got to just use stuff on hand, as it could go right back out to a new home.

4. Build up a bike with modern components from the bin for an anxious customer. Figure out what frame, price, and get a deposit THIS TIME!!

Shinjiboy just dug up this 2 year old thread... I think since it's back on page 1, everyone who posted their projects needs to edit their posts to say if they ever actually finished them. I bet that nobody has finished all four of the projects they listed.

Bikes: too many or not enough

73 Gitane Super Corsa Pro - stripped with new soda blasting system, will paint, apply decals and clearcoat when weather is nicer, then build. I think I have all the parts I need.
60s? Raphael Geminiani Special - major work needed. Needs to be stripped and OA bathed, chrome is shot so needs to be removed and painted or rechromed. Then need to find 60s French parts.
70s Motobecane Grand Record - need to strip, paint and build up.
also sell a number of bikes this spring/summer, herd is getting way too big (and signature too long)

- Early 90s F. Moser AX Leader - Fillet-brazed race warrior. I haven't been this excited about a frame in a long time. I'll be riding this next week.

- 1992 Bridgestone RB-1 - Full bore from-the-metal-up, better-than-new restoration. Likely a 3 month process

- Late 60s Gitane TdF - Restoring the dignity of a slightly Drewed little French orphan. A month to 6 weeks left.
