You should like this
This is a Team Suntour time trial bike from the 80's. It is all original (except the front wheel) I also have the training wheelset. I use it at the local time trials for fun. It gets lots of attention

I like those. I'll assume those are steel bars so you don't wear out the aluminum. Nice!

As much as I like vintage frames, I've never gotten hung up on vintage components. I guess my #1 would be tri-color Shimano 600 followed by Suntour Superbe.
But I really get excited about Ultegra/600 8 speed brifters and vintage 8 speed road cassettes to match.

I'm definitely 90% SunTour. I have both years of Volare's, the 77 with Crane and the 78 with Dura Ace. I have a Bob Jackson I plan to build up with Campy, and a Mk II with Sunrace, but everything else is SunTour, mostly Superb, Cyclone, and Suberbe Pro. I also have been lucky enough to find genuine SunTour chains for all of my indexed bikes which is a must to squeeze out the best of the SunTour indexed shifting.

Oh, and component lust? Dura-Ace 7400 and Suntour Superbe Pro for nailing a design that reflects pure performance. No frills, and in the case of Dura-Ace 7400, a design that somehow conveys aggressive high-performance.

I know it's not really old enough, but to my eye and appreciation for rebuildable, functional, and aesthatic nothing beats Shimano 7700 DA.
I also love the Ofmega Mistral cranks and Premier derailleurs

Which I thought went very well with Campy Monoplanars on my Centurionelli build.

I would love to have a set of those Campy brakes that are sort of like center pulls but don't have the wire. Sorry I can't remember the name. I will never own a set but would like a set to hang on
the wall just to look at. They are beatiful.

I run a Sansin tandem hub on my hybrid / tourer which is identical to the Superbe track hubs (save for a few more spoke drillings) as Sansin made these for Suntour... I have never owned a smoother or better made hub than this and have got to play with and built up a set of Superbe track hubs for a client. It was hard not to drool over my work.
If I get out to Vancouver to do some riding I will see if I can bring the Cooper with me... you will have to forgive me for bringing a geared bike and this too is an object of bike lust for more than a few folks.

Oh, and I replaced my crankset with a 'road' triple, not a 'compact' triple. It's bad enough to be impugned for riding a road triple! (I've got the compact triple on another bike)

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's/60's road bikes.
The link does not work, but I would very much like to see that bike.

I have first generation Dura Ace hubs on my 1974 Paramount. For some strange reason, I like them more than Campy.

I am way out of my league here I see.
If I am going to measure lust by what things I have hoarded beyond rational need, then it has to be early MTB frames and bits. I happen to think that rigid steel MTB make the best platform for someone like me to play around with. But that hardly justifies the swarm of frames in my rafters.

I don't hoard, but I do tend to pick up any mid grade or higher Suntour components I see at reasonable prices. I have been recycling these parts through various rebuilds. So I try to keep a couple of groups on hand.

I love finding those mid eighties, handbuilt, lugged steel mtb's that say "Kuwahara" or "Apollo".

The early Shimano Deore Stag's Head group is really beautiful, especially the cold forged crank, and I found a complete group attached to a vintage ad nearly mint Kuwahara this summer... it also had the high flange Sansin hubs laced 36/3 to Araya RM 20 wheels.
