need a second opinion on a raleigh frame

based on the serial number, i know it was made around november 1981 in malaysia. based on raleigh's 1981 catalog i believe its a rapide, can anyone confirm this? or perhaps im wrong?

(says: "carbon steel tubing")

Assuming it is a 1981 Rapide, they were really bottom end, heavy bikes. I would not put any money into one for sure. If you have some parts laying around and just want a foul weather bike, it would be OK.

At the right price, it would be perfect for that use.

+1. And if you're thinking of painting it, I can give you some great ideas for the graphics!
