Bianchi ID help.
Can anyone help ID a Bianchi? I believe it is a Japanese manufactured frame.

Owner has provided only a few details:
Suntour shifters,
That the serial number is on the BB (didn't list the #),
no dents on frame,
ridable condition.

too bad the seller did not give you more information. to me, going by the color, Piaggio decal, the shape of 1/10000" of seatube Bianchi decal, Suntour shifters and the 022 tubing decal on the fork I think it is a '84 Limited. a 25" one at that. $250 seems a bit hight to me but good pics could tell you more

some years the Limited had a Italian frame others it had a Japanese frame

I've searched "Bianchi Limited" and found quite a bit of info. The few Bianchi catalogues I saw online from early 80's did not list the Limited, only the higher end bikes. Anyone have a link to a catalogue reference for the Limited.

can anyone point me to a thread that lists Bianchi serial number protocol - I've been searching unsuccessfully. Owner has emailed me the serial # = BS450474

TMar has a good data base but I don't think there was alot of rhyme and reason in the serial numbers. I think whoever posted the catalogs online was only interested in the upper end models.
I'll try and scan the applicaple pages from the '84. the limited was always an upper end model of the beginner racers. once Bianchi (USA) firmly settled on Shimano 600 it was a great all around road bike and eventually as the Virata was the top model with sometimes only 1 Italian bike above it.
