Please tell me you didn't read The Silmarillion all the way through?

Glad that you are able to add to the substance of the question, as usually...

Do you think maybe you two could just learn to ignore each other?

I did, but it was many years ago.

I vote "No" on that idea. It's just like pro wrestling without the steroids and spandex.

I'm still looking for Bigbossman's "Canadian Club" joke, alleged on another thread to be over here on this one. :(

As I said a while back...

Round 2

:fight:

it was inevitable

A baby seal walked into a bar and sat down. "What can I get you?" asked the bartender.

The baby seal said: "Anything but a Canadian Club."

If Rivendell is a backwater elven town, then is a certain GP a washed up velo philosopher? :innocent:

Actually mon - fri sidewalks downtown have a flow of traffic, albeit informal, and the salmon navigate it pretty well, I've never been hit by one.

Round 2

Over at another forum I've participated in, there was a rule:

You don't ask why a thread was deleted. Doing so will always result in the second thread becoming a carbon copy of the first.

So I should look out for "Rivendell thread...Where is it? thread... Where is it?"? =D It's a bit creepy that it's just deleted... I just read the Locksmith thread by daddio and that seemed worse.

this thread is like a wigwam and a tee pee

two tents.

sorry.... had to...

Here is your final exam question. It will count for 100% of your grade. Remember to keep your eyes on your own paper. 3 points extra credit if your answer is in Sanskrit, Gaelic or Esperantu. 2 more extra credit points for correctly diagramming the question.

If GP scattered fairy dust on John Forester's backside while riding on a bike path and not wearing a helmet, and no one was there to insist that nobody but nobody in America needs a car under any circumstances, rant that Lance Armstrong was/is a doper and the Antichrist, or ask pcad anythng, would a tree falling in a forest sound like botto breaking wind in the general direction of Lucien Juy (whose mother was a hamster and whose father smelled of elderberries) holding a Simplex derailleur?

Ironically enough, the actual translation of that Sanskrit text is as follows, which is rather appropriate for this thread:

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

I agree, the moderation on this forum is great. They seem let things develop to a point and usually give a gentle reminder when things heat up.

I cannot believe that a thread about a thread got this many responses!

Now you're talking!

John, I bet you can even pronounce the name of the erupting volcano in Iceland!

Eyjafjallajokull

Here is the BBC Pronunciation Unit's guide on how to saw the glacier's name. Eyjafjallajökull (or Eyafallajökull) is pronounced AY-uh-fyat-luh-YOE-kuutl (-uh) , that is -ay as in day, -fy as in few, -oe as in French coeur, -uu as in boot, the -tl as in atlas. The (-uh) is "a" as in ago.

Stressed syllables are in capital letters.
Hey, this might make a great name for the next Rivendell bike!

I do, however, recommend wearing a helmet while riding in Iceland. Falling pumice rock can really hurt the old noggin, which could possibly lead to cognitive impairment.

Oh god, you brought botto to C&V.

botto, do you run searches every few hours for your name in new threads? Really?

I liked the other one BBM told better....

"A grasshopper walks into a bar...the bartender says hey, we have a drink named after you! The grasshopper says you have a drink named Harold?"

How does someone find the time to place over 34,000 posts in four short years? That's on the order of 22 posts per day, every day, or 150 posts per week! When does Botto find time to ride a bike?

That does not even account for the chunks of time that he is banned. I think a lot of the posts are short so that helps a bit.
