I saw this bike on sale on the internet. I just found out the guy lives down the road, a few 100 meters away.
I'm going to have a look tomorrow. It seems just a bit too small for me but it's Aquila. Never had an Aquila. And I like Concorde... what to do...
If I buy it for €250, would that be a fair price?

I really like my aquila (1990-ish). It really depends on whether it fits you or not and what you plan on doing with it. I bought a frameset for a fair bit less than that, but I was going to put all modern parts on it and wouldn't pay full price plus the cost of all new parts. If you are going to keep it original, it's probably a decent price, but I don't know anything about your market.

Another thing. I have all parts available for building my "celeste" Concorde Colombo. Only thing missing is a correct bottom bracket cable guide. I have two different ones, a Shimano one (blue of colour) and another one. Both do not fit. I bought the frame as a set, no cables attached.

See picture for the BB-holes. The small hole is not threaded. What kind of cable guide do I need here?

The Vitus cable guide will probably fit, it clicks in and does not neer a screw.

No clue, my aquila had guides brazed on. Sounds like paulkal has a good idea of something to try.

Came to me as a Concorde. I thought not.

Just lucked into this Prestige. My LBS was about to send it to the recyclers. Anyone familiar with the model? Hard to find any info. Came to me with mostly Shimano 600 'tricolor', with Stronglight 104 bis (drillium) cranks and Campy Sidney 2000 hoops. Judging by date codes on the derailleurs, I'm figuring it's from '88 or '89 (derailleurs were manufactured in the first half of '88)

Here's my 1990 Concorde Astore, purchased in the Netherlands, while stationed in Germany. Was custom fitted and painted, Campy Athena. Still gets ridden a lot. Hubs are Shimano, making it easier to upgrade cassettes.

Here's mine I just finished building.
Super frustrating to figure out the tubing. A lot of signs point to SL because of the Team tab race number hanger.
But most aquila's were SLX/TSX (pdm's)
Haven't seen any others with this paint!
Also no serial number anywhere. Noooooowhere. Front derailleur hanger nothing, bottom bracket shell nothing, rear dropouts... a little odd. Anyone have any more info on these?

My was custom made, and no serial number either. I was told by the shop, with the exception of the PDM bikes, they wanted no two bikes to have the same paint scheme. I have never seen one like mine either. KB

Edit: My Concorde is Post 138.

To determine the tubeset, you need to remove the bottom bracket and look inside the shell to check the interior of the tubes. If the insides of the tubes are smooth, then it's SL. If there are five helical ridges, then it's SLX or TSX. The difference is that SLX's ridges only extend about 100mm up the down tube and about 150mm up the seat tube. TSX's ridges extended the entire length of the down tube.

The ridges are quite narrow and thin (3.5mm x 0.35mm), so they can be hard to see, use a good light or feel for them.

A while ago I started this Concorde Squadra project. Due to circumstances I didn't finish it and the frame and bits were stored away for many years. Now I am determinded to finish it This afternoon I took some pics of the project in semi-assembled state.



The Concorde will be specced with Campagnolo Super Record and C-Record. The seat is also Campagnolo. It is inflatable for the right firmness. I use it without air. It is okay. The quality of the leather is very nice. The cockpit comes from Cinelli. The pantographing in the 1R stem is a cool touch.





I think it will take a couple weeks and than I am ready to go.

Very nice, I always liked the PDM Concordes. Can wait to see the finished bike.
