Has anyone else been having issues with Photobucket?

Has anyone else been having issues with Photobucket?

I use them to post pictures to this forum and to promote my flips on Craigslist, but right now none of them are visible.

First, I received a message that I had exceeded my free "10-Gb" monthly bandwidth, and that my account was disabled until the start of the next monthly cycle, if I did not immediately upgrade to their "Pro" account.

Though it is extremely UNLIKELY that I exceeded their 10-Gb limit, (I have no movies and all my image files are resized for e-mail), I decided to upgrade to their Pro account anyway.

After paying $25 I got the confirmation of payment and a notice that my account had been upgraded. The links to my pictures were reactivated, and life was good.

This morning I got the same warning AGAIN, and then they disabled my account AGAIN, and the links to my pics are AGAIN dead.

...I contacted them within 6 minutes of this happening, and have waited all day for a response:
So far, Nada, zip, zilch.

Flickr has been making a lot of changes as well, and has gotten a lot worse IMHO. I guess they are sick of supplying us free access to posting pictures. I can still paste HTML from Flickr directly to an ebay listing, but I haven't figured it out for here. So I have reverted to attaching pics directly from my computer (after I compress them to a smaller size).

I haven't been able to upload images of any size to P-bucket for months. No explanation given, other than "upload failed".
It's worth exactly what I paid for it (nuthin').

Past two days here, thumbnails are visible, expands are basically dial up slow, so I cancel the process, so it goes.

Halelujah !
Photobucket support finally got back to me - and sent me the note below. Apparently they had a SW glitch and were overwhelmed with complaints, and were unable to respond . Just knowing that a human heard me makes a huge difference - but even better they fixed it for me.
I have another hosting account too- but I think Photobucket is the more user friendly. Now that I've upgraded I will finally get to see how the other half lives.

PS - I learned that "Bandwidth" is not measured by your own usage - rather by the usage of everyone/anyone who accesses your links!
Thus, if you had 100 small 100Kb files that were viewed by 100 of your closest friends 10x, you would have used up 10Gb in bandwidth.

Dear Auchen Crow,

We are having issues with payments posting. I have manually reset the account at this time and you will need to refresh on your end. Please hang in there while we try to get this resolved. We are very sorry. We are working as fast as we can.

Please clear your browser's cache and cookies, refresh, then try logging back in again. Thank you.

I cannot imagine that Flicker is much different from P-bucket - Are you using the "[IMG] full path /[IMG]" bracketed name for the link? The html tagged links that work in Craigslist don't work here.

I've not been very successful in uploading very many files at once nor any large files - so I limit it to 4 or 5 e-mail sized files at once. (It doesn't really matter whether I'm using p bucket or something else). What size are your images? If you have a newer hi-res camera you have to re-size everything first.

I use Flickr too and it still works.... although it's been really glitchy lately. I assume that it's just from changing the format and will get better with time. Once you get the photo to the full size, you can right click and select "copy image address"

Photobucket has worked OK for me. I too try to keep my file sizes small. And not have too many.

I have some photos hosted on Flickr and Inbox. Haven't used it enough to know if there are more glitches.

I like the stats page on photobucket.

Just thought I'd test it too.

No problems here.

I recently posted two bikes on CL, linking to Photobucket. I've had no problems.

I did get a strange email recently. It said something along the lines that there has been a lot of fraud on CL, so they were going to have to verify who I was before each post. Essentially, it sounded like a phishing scam. I ignored the email and never had any issue.
