I've literally just unpacked my 1978 Motobecane Le Champion and sat there for a bit feeling sorry for myself. After measuring (creatively) several times I've determined it is just too small for me. I've added a couple measurements and I can verify threading, seatpost and stem size tomorrow.

I have a set of decals coming for it. The dropout screws didn't quite make it after shipping.

I am looking for a preferably 59 c-c seat tube, ~58c-c top tube road frame. The 150mm head tube and 57c-c of this one are just too much of a drop.
I am partial to the 60s and 70s, have a soft spot for Raleigh international, professional, bottecchia professional, open to many others...I like fancy lugs and chrome accents. Prefer British iso or Italian threading but let me know what you've got.

Have a blue Peugeot UO-8 (I think?) road frame for barter. It is too small for me. Seat tube is around 49 or 50cm ctr-ctr and top tub is 54cm ctr-ctr. A 52 maybe? Comes with stem, bars, headset, seatpost, BB, Maxy crankset, Simplex shifters and Mafac Professional center pulls and levers- no pads. Wheelset is Maillard/ Rigida Super Chromix- the rims are pitted and came off another bike but are true and roll nice. No tires, chain or derailleurs.

Looking for a 56-58 ctr-ctr frame only. Any flavor of steel. Must be dent and crack free. Anything considered that is lugged for 27"/ 700c wheels. Will also consider a folding bike frame or swb recumbent frame with more added on my end.

I wish I had something. I'm an odd duck with the legs of a 6'4 person and the torso of a 5'11 person. I find TT of 58cm to be very comfy.

It is really a beautiful bike and I am disappointed that it won't fit. I'll put some decals on it and tidy it up a bit anyways. Maybe if no one has anything I can hang it on a wall.

I have an extremely clean Trek Singletrack 930 from 1995, the cool purple-green fade. Sadly, it is just too small for me. Tubing is the Trek True Temper OS chromoly, chromoly stays and fork. The guy claimed that he almost never rode it over the past 20 years, and it looks like it, except for a few nicks here and there. Seat tube is 18 inches and top tube is 58 cm or 22.8 inches. I'd be willing to swap the frame or the whole bike, which has STX derailleurs, and so on.





I'm looking for either a larger steel MTB, touring or cyclocross bike that I could use for either riding gravel or touring, preferably with a longer seat tube (between 50-55 cm for MTB, or 56-59 cm for touring or cyclocross) and a not particularly long top tube (almost square).

I listed this earlier looking to trade down to a smaller size Bianchi frame. Pics and details can be found in the for sale thread. I've since bought the replacement frame in smaller size and now that the memory of the cost of the replacement frame has faded, time to continue with n+1.

Ok, here's the deal. This bike is beautiful and amazing and I love it but, it's just a bit too small for me. It measures a 50cm from center to center on seat post and 52cm on the top tube.

It's in flawless condition and is stunning. The paint, decals and finish are perfect. The components are perfect. The bike was recently completely lubed and tuned and needs nothing.

I'd like to trade for a comparable bike in a 52/53, or maybe a 54cm.

For trade:

Trek Elance 400 frameset. 60cm ctr-ctr seat tube. 57.5cm ctr-ctr top tube. I picked this bike up two days ago. It is dent, impression, gouge and crack free. Straight too. Rides and tracks like a dream- very fast. It has a very light Reynolds 531 frame in really nice shape overall outside of the usual paint chips in some areas. Dark blue with silver accents on the lug inlays and head tube.

One catch, the SR LaPrade seatpost is currently stuck. I haven't tried anything yet other than letting it soak in penetrant from both directions with the binder bolt removed. I'm working on it, taking time and great care but will get it out. Or I can leave it to you

I'd like to trade for a quality lugged steel frame in the 57cm ctr-ctr realm. Plus or minus one cm either direction. No dents, cracks or impressions that aren't supposed to be there in your trade offer please. Stuck seatpost fine.

Wanting to trade my titanium Airborne Zeppelin 56cm st, 57cm tt, with Easton carbon forks and headset for another frame. 55-57st 55-56tt. Steel would be best. Trek 760-70, Serotta,Davidson or something similar. Not worried about dollar amounts on my end. Just looking for something that fits. Thanks..

Have: 60cm 1987 Cannondale SR600 F/F/HS in fair condition. Blueberry! Some bubbling around the water bottle mounts, a slight ding in the downtube. No cracks. Rear derailleur hanger and bottom bracket threading in good condition. Some surface rusting on the fork tips. Shimano 600 headset.



Want: A 63 or 65cm Cannondale from the same era, 64cm steel Treks from the mid/late 80's, one of the late 80's Tenax Schwinns..biggest size obviously.

The whole handlebar assembly, will get mounted directly to the Cannondale SR500 I am currently painting. Since I have red rims, a red seatpost, and red bar wrap, I think red would look nice. I LOVE the color on my SM1000! and they would make a nice combo. Both red, one with XT, and the other with Dura Ace. Anyways, I am rambling and off subject.,,,,BD

Early 80's Kuwahara-made Apollo Regent frame with fork, 25". Free for the taking but you must pick up, Phoenix AZ. Had 700c wheels and Shimano 105 Golden Arrow groupset. Seatpost measures about 26.6 mm.

I have a very clean 54cm '91 Diamondback TG Expert road frame that I picked up recently and built into a bike. Unfortunately its way too small for me. It's a pretty nice riding frame though, TIG welded OS cro-moly and made in Japan rather than Taiwan. I rode it for around 50 miles before disassembling it again and it's very a stiff, nice handling frame. The pic shows my temp assembly (yes, no rear brake, lol). Anyway I need a 56-57cm frame, anyone have a frame in that size they'd wanna trade? If interested LMK, and thanks.

I have a lovely metallic blue 21" 1985 Trek 620 I'd love to trade for the same year 22.5". I've camouflaged the few nicks my frame had with original Trek touchup paint. Cheers!

Are you sure you've tried everything? Seems like there's a shot if your ideal frame is only 1cm larger.

Just asking because I came this close to selling my Team Champion that I had owned since the 70's for the same reasons you described. As a last ditch I swapped out the Cinelli bars for Nitto Randonneurs, and now it feels great.

frame is a Raleigh USA 1986 Reynolds 531 butted frame tubed. 58cm c-t. Overall paint in excellent condition with a few scratches. Shifter post are universal. Would come with only the new alloy Tange HS.

I had the same sort of experience when I removed the regular seatpost on a Trek 460 and replaced it with one of the MK1 Velo-Orange setback seatposts.

Now if they only made them in 26.6mm.....
