compact crank

Looking for a compact crank, 34 - 48 or 34 - 50 for my late 70s early 80s Guerciotti. Needs to accomodate a BB of 110mm, crank arm 170MM

If you want to stick with a square taper BB, Velo Orange has a few that may work. They look fine on older bikes unlike alot of newer common compact cranksets out there. Also some older Sugino cranksets of that era come in 110 bcd.

I've got a Sugino on a Trek 420 I just picked up that should be 110 BCD. Not sure what the rings are on it. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but it'll work just fine.

There's a SR Signature 110/74 BCD triple sitting on a shelf in my place, too, with 50/46/30 rings, maybe.

Let me know if either will work for you.

I would be looking for one of the 110 Suginos. I swapped rings on mine, went from a 52/42 to a 47/35 or something like that ("borrowed some rings from a donor MTB).

I was gonna go that route. Find an old Sugino, polish it up, buy chainrings of my choice, buy appropriate BB. Then, a used Ultra Torque Campy Veloce crankset with BB cups appeared for a good price! Super easy to install. Cruising in the big ring is very satisfying.

Is this too hideous of a compact crank?

That looks nice. I was really trying to find a square taper Campy compact. Ultra Torque was easier to find.

I have an SR Apex, 48/34, square taper, in very nice shape but would be brilliant with a little elbow grease and some Muthas.

PM me if interested.
