28 hole hub - what to look for.
Recently, I bought a 28 hole SA 3 speed hub, and I'm planning to lace it up in a a fast 700c wheelset for a mock english racer. the problem is that I haven't been able to find a nice 28 hole front hub, I went for the dynohub but couldn't find one. Now are there any vintage 28 hole hubs, preferably high flange? eBay and the local vending sites do not seem to offer one. TIA!

if you just need something that works and aint necessarily period correct try a cannondale coda hub, tons on ebay and probably your cheapest option, you can make it look fancy by oven cleaning off the anodizing and polishing it up. I used to have a nice campy record high flange in 28 hole but needed some cash and reluctantly sold it, sometimes I kick myself. Somehow I dont think 105 came in 28 hole ever but I could be wrong, dura ace, 600 certainly did, some other obscure stuff like Zeus too. Another thing you can do is find a cheapo kids bike and swap out the axle if you need QR, a lot of those lil kids bikes had 28 spoke drilling, but they are often basic steel hubs.
