PUCH!!? what are they!?

my farther recently aquired a Puch off a freind of his, i know it has a sticker sayin "made int switserland or sweeden (one of them), it's a purple black with gold rings in some areas, and im guessing late 50's or early 60's. my farther is currently unemployed and is selling all the collections of things he have aquired over the years, does anyone know how much they are worth, i am assuming they are rare seeing as i have only ever seen one, and my farther has it have it.

please any information on Puch's would be great (i cant find anytihng on them!)

Lots of Puch's out there, I have three right now. Puch made millions of bikes.

Without pictures, no comments on yours. Value is all about condition, model and location. And your farther's ability to properly market the bike. All of this starts with high quality pictures.

Puch bicycles: 593,000 hits on google. Hits on bikeforums: 1,890.

Puch made a wide range of bikes, from the very bottom, to pretty good, and everything in between.

Puch had a distribution contact with Sears during the 60's and 70's. There are millions of them gathering dust.

I never knew Puch's were made outside of Austria until much, much later.

or, perhaps it's a Thorndorf purple Ultima Superleicht with gold lug lining. Now those don't show up very often. You can always hope.

Puch is a very old company that eventually was acquired and became a brand of Austro-Dalmier. It should say "Made in Austria", not Sweden. Unless the sticker
was added later by a bike shop.

Some Puchs, like the Clubman, are fairly low end on the scale. Others, like the Marco Polo, can fetch a respectable dollar depending on condition.

But regardless of whether its a Clubman or a MP, Puch's attention to detail - like ornate lugs, logo brandled axle nuts, etc - always make them a joy to see. Please post some pictures if you can!

I've also had several Puch's that were made in Japan. Like most bike manufacturers, they farmed out a portion of their product line to Asia.
