update

Well, finally got the new crank on my bike and took it out for a quick ride this morning. Everything works, BUT the crank has trouble shifting to the big sprocket. I ended up using this crank. I am a little curious if I should get a new FD to see if that fixes the problem. I spent a good hour trying to fine tune the adjustments on the stock FD trying to make it shift without problems. It will shift but I have to be at a certain rpm for it to grab properly otherwise it will just grind there in place not shifting.

Your FD is WAY too high, and may not work with a compact crank in any case.

Got it thanks. I will go adjust that right now. About how close should it be to the crank? 1/8"?
