Great turtle photo Sixty Fiver! Did you use a long lens, or are they just unafraid of guys with cameras?

Rose garden near my house. Stopped there on the way to the dentist today.

Took this at the Oregon Zoo... these little guys seemed pretty chill with having their picture taken and was shooting long through the glass with 4x optical zoom on the new old Canon A630.

This little critter was very good at sitting still yesterday... I have been having a lot of fun with the new camera.

I have been quite pleased with the Canon A630, the colour capture is extremely accurate and it can also be switched to manual mode which is something I have to play with.

The subject material here has been inspiring. I love the ocean and plan to return next weekend with the family to do more exploring and perhaps we might get so lucky to see some larger marine life.

Same location with the tide starting to roll in...

Played with new toys today. Mrs non-fixie got a bike carrier for her Fiat 500. And I got a huge Champion Mondial for me.

Redneck fun in Kittitas, WA.

My apologies to any proud rednecks out there that could construe that as a negative connotation ;)

As my brother-in-law likes to say - the Wal-Mart parking lot was empty on Saturday afternoon. :)

That was a real hilarious moment - the guy makes it 30-40 ft of the rolling burnout and the car shuts down. Most people just reach down and turn the key. Nope - his head disappears under the dash as he's trying to hotwire it. One priceless moment.

I know this is an "old post" but I do have ONE question ... WHERE did you find that seat/saddle bag that's on the back of the seat of the bike in the foreground on the right?

TIA!

That is an Acorn roll bag. Acorn is known for top quality and notoriously hard to get. They make their products in batches and sell out instantly. You can sign up for notifications when they will be ready to sell. Here is their website: http://www.acornbags.com/rollbag.html

After the first pass, I figured I'd had enough smelling burnt rubber for the rest of my life; we listened to the announcer tell us we were on the upwind side, so thought we were okay. Not!

Absolutely a cool experience, though - as per the rules, those were all slow, controlled burnouts for about 50 yards from start to finish. Even the Mayor did a run in his truck :)

Northbend had one of those on our Friday ride - damned nice bag, and we were talking about how they only come out in limited batches. Too bad - personally, I hate that marketing strategy :)
