Centrum Pannomia
To be honest, we're not even sure what it is - a housemate and I bought it for another of our housemates at a thrift store for $35 a couple weeks ago, simply because it was light blue, beautiful, made in Hungary, and absolutely perfect for our housemate. We didn't know what we were getting into!
The bike looks insanely similar to an old Csepel Lady's bike or an old Eaton's Road King, and the best we can figure, it came from somewhere around the 1950's - we sent it away to be reconditioned (there were just a few rust spots here and there that caused some concern, and the whole thing needed a slight cleaning), otherwise I'd be hunting down a frame number right this minute. Has only a front brake, and apparently the option of back-peddling to stop. It even came with a little white saddle bag, and what appear to be wheel locks. It's in excellent condition, but we can find no information on this bike whatsoever online.
The painted-on decals only say "Centrum" and "Pannomia" - searching for an exact match just brings back a bunch of pictures and advertisements for bottles of pills. Has anyone seen/heard of this bike before? Does anyone know what it's worth? Our housemate would like to take the bike back and forth to school, but I'm thinking we might just have to keep it under lock and key...
