I stripped my MV down first thing to start the cleaning and assessment. I found a cracked left crank arm. Luckily, the seller kicked me back $25 to help with the replacement cost.
Thanks to @Brewsmith, I was able to buy a set of 105 cranks with non biopace rings and it came with nice brake levers, shifters and derailers which I already have other plans for another project. Score. @Flog00 is sending me mint 105 levers qith white hoods. Thanks!. @texaspandj was kind enough to get an original set of Wolbers out to me as the bike came with terrible mismatched rims.
Trying on the White Vetta seat like in the ad.
Im going to touch up some of the paint. its pretty nice but can use a little touch up.
Gonna be real nice
Stay tuned

It's going to be bone stock except for the non biopace chain rings. Depending on how it rides, it could be my everyday bike. Right now, that title goes to my Celeste Bianchi.

A recent acquisition I, unfortunately, have to pass along as it fits neither myself nor my wife. Pretty fresh overall , and in my favorite colorway: 1988 'Purple Haze'

Beautiful, but I'm curious -- is that a round 39T inner ring, or one of the elusive 40T BioPace rings (generally steel)?

I saw that on the Denver craigslist. It was sitting there for quite some time. Glad it got cleaned up!

Here's a Centurion Ironman Master with Shimano 600 group. Appears to be a 1989 gray smoke, but I'm not sure. Looks pretty good, although the hoods are missing. Same seller I bought my '89 Ironman Expert from in June, and my Univega from last year.
Tempting, but I don't really need another and don't have the room.
I might visit the seller to take a peek anyway, in part to check out the drivetrain to compare with mine (I've mentioned before it seems like my Expert's drivetrain drags a bit from excessive rear derailleur tension). He also has a nice looking Accordo which might make a comfortable alternative to the Centurion for days when my neck is aching.

I see dark grey Ultegra 6700 FD/RD/crankset/calipers, Fulcrum Racing 3.5's, 10-sp DA DT shifters and Modolo Aero black brake levers. Polished post, stem, same Nitto B115 bars, white Prologo saddle w/black trim and white Fizik perforated wrap. Probably dark grey housings. Around 20 lbs.
Or a full GPX group, but with a ramped freewheel.
Either way, awesome.

Wow you see all that? I guess a Master Ironman brings out the great vision. I prefer Shimano over just about anything but I can see how the colors of the gpx would fit so Nice.
Speaking of @canklecat , I see there's an Ironman expert for 75 bucks in your area with a bent frame and front wheel. You could get that and transfer the components to your expert and all your problems solved with the backward spin of the cranks.

Or @canklecat picks up the '88 Master, keeps the group for his Ironman, sells me the frame/fork/headset/seat post/stem/bars. He may come out very well. I would get the bones I need to do some creative tinkering....
I was just gonna pm and tell him if he gets the 75.00 dollar with 105 components, I have some wheels I'd give him off a master that I got from you! The Centurion Ironman world just keeps spinning.

I want to give a big shout out to texaspandj! I received a package in the mail yesterday with a brown Vetta saddle in it. He wouldn't take payment even for shipping. That's paying it foreword, right there. Thanks again tex.

@RobbieTunes and @texaspandj, yup, that complete Ironman Master with Shimano 600 group looks pretty sweet. Not sure whether the seller will budge from the price. He's patient and some bikes will list for months before they move, although occasionally he'll drop the price a bit after a month.
Unfortunately I've had some health issues come up recently so I'm pinching pennies until I find out what the VA covers. Sudden spikes in blood pressure and relapse of a pesky old thyroid condition. I'm betting the BP problem is related to the old C2 neck injury from a car crash in 2001. Did some funky stuff to the nerves that can occasionally provoke BP spikes. So I'm taking it easy for awhile and riding the flat bar Univega to see if I might have been aggravating the condition riding the drop bar Centurion.
I might check out that wrecked frame Centurion to cannibalize for parts. Bedford is north of our bus service, so I'd need to bum a ride from a friend to fetch it. Gave my pickup truck to a family member who needed transportation (she lives in a rural area, no bus, taxi, etc.), and I can usually get by on the bike or local bus. But occasionally it's a hassle when I need to travel outside Fort Worth.
I also see a junker in Garland that should be selling for only around $50, assuming the components are good, maybe more if the frame is okay. But he's asking $250. Looks like it has no bar tape, no hoods, the brake cables are flopping around loose, and who knows what else -- the photo is too poor to tell.

Beautiful day today, so I'm back out on the '85 again soaking up some sun! I managed to pry myself away from the bike long enough to snap a couple of pics this time lol.

That is outstanding. Showroom centurion.
It resembles the "Ironman" T-Mar just posted.

Looking back on it I can't believe I even hesitated when I was originally offered the bike. Absolutely no regrets on that purchase! That baby is priceless to me now!

This is why I don't own a Centurion Ironman Dave Scott. I'm holding out for the Tony Stark edition.
