Good cranksets for 3/32" chains

Hello. I could only find one new crankset for a traditional width chain, the shimano 2300. Are there any other options for a 6/7/8 speed crankset? Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure 3/32" cranksets & individual chain rings are way more common, new, used or NOS than 1/8", at least in the realm of C&V bikes. Keep looking.

I've stuck two "10-speed" cranksets on bikes with 7-speed drivetrains....While they're optimized for the narrower chain, it works fine (for me).

Hmm. I'm putting a crankset onto a trek 760 frame. I was planning on using a 7-speed cassette, because, well, I don't really want more speeds than that. My understanding was that 9 and 10 speed cranksets would have the chainrings spaced too closely together.

before you start buying stuff, make a game plan. most all multispeed derailleur bikes are 3/32" pitch. a crank for a 8/910/+ speed just have slightly narrower (thinner) rings and the spacing between them is closer.

Ok; I guess I've been using the 3/32" measurement incorrectly. Apparently all road chains are 3/32", but 9/10 speed chains are still thinner, right? So I still have the same question. Has anyone else had success using 9/10 speed chainrings with an 8 speed chain? Do most people look for used parts when using fewer than 9 speeds?

I'll say yes as I have been using some newer chain wheels on older cranks with 7 and 8 speed chains. I currently, thanks to someone here, use a KMC 8.91 chain which the box labels as 24spd. I have used it mostly for 2x 7 spd setups both index and friction and it seems to work great.

I think the 9/10 speed chainrings are fairly backwards compatible, chains & spacing maybe not so much.
