Something completely different part 2

So here is the other oddity i picked up last week. I rode this yesterday for about 35 miles and it has a great ride. Not twitchy or flexy for me. It is a bit on the heavy side at around 23 lbs. Did some short but steep climbs (18percent) worked suprisingly well. Has a stonlight 80 crankset and a mix of mid to lower end parts but they work fine. Cost 250.00. It is what it is. Certainly got alot of attention which is fun

I dunno what to say. It's got a few built in bottle openers right by the shifters. lol, jk. I picture like mid to late 80's? Cool but strange frame. Too bad they could of done something with the fork to match the frame. What's the bio on this cause I've never seen this before.

Maybe Joe knows the history of his frame, but if you can't wait here is one site on Kirks magnesium frames
https://www.kirk-bicycles.co.uk/Kirk.htm

ps. Nice score.

I like those when they came out but they were heavy, expensive and had (un-weldable) cracking problems.

I saw one be ridden locally a couple of years ago, I think you got a couple of "curiosities".

Yes, strange indeed. I know they were made in England and they actually had a team race them in the tdf. There is a guy in Reno that has one and has had it on cr forever at 950.00. His has a different fork and all 105 parts. Mine says limited first edition....which means they probably made alot of them. Most of them are probably still in Europe..not too sure who imported them to the states and if many were, in fact, imported here. Still....fun and a novelty.

"A bit heavy at 23 lbs..."

Dude, what world do you live in? 23 Lb for a metal frame is not too shabby.

considering their reputation for breaking, it's a little heavy.

Bikes: Too many Bicycles to list

That's a very cool looking frame, I had not seen one before thanks for sharing. It would look cool with some kind of I beam fork on it.

Bikes: blue ones.

One of my grail bikes ever since I parked my fixie next to one in the hipster fixie rack at my local guarded bike parking. Awesome frames.
