I have a 25+ y.o. Silca that's been fine till the 125 degrees in the garage killed its leather washer last year. Where you guys buying the replacement washers?
I've been anxiously and carefully using my air compressor to fill my presta tubes.
But I picked up an identical used Silca last week for cheap.
Not much help, since an old Silca isn't going to be available on every corner. Just that these Silcas were so well made and repairable, some of us have no good reason to buy replacements.

I just might get one to remedy my Lezyne

Your Zefal lasted 25 years.
There's your answer.
I'm using a 17.99 Zefal from Walmart.
My backup is a 9.99 odd plastic brand that has to have a presta adapter.
They both work great, but the 9.99 has an in-line guage that's none too accurate.

I've had mine for 25 years and it is still going strong. It was about 10 years old when I got it...
I got a Lezyne CNC Floordrive last year for Christmas. It is beautiful and super smooth feeling. BUT it is super finicky and tends to pull valve cores out of the stem frequently enough that I almost never use it any more.

Another vote for Silca. Not sure how old it is, but I've had it since ~1988. I just rebuilt/repainted it and got one of the new aluminum schraeder/presta heads for it.

What's wrong with your pump? You might be able to fix it.
I've owned a Silca. I now own four or five floor pumps, including a Specialized and the Topeak Joe Blow. The Topeak is the best among them.

I have a steel lezyne floor drive. The screw on valve really is the best solution IMO, if the valve stems come out you just need to put some blue loc tite on them. The lezyne effortlessly cranks out PSI. Every other pump I've used feels feeble in comparison.

I just happened across this:https://www.parktool.com/product/shop-inflator-inf-1
If not too expensive, I will put this on my want list

Really?!? Am I the only one that thinks that is a PITA? The Hirame blows it out of the water. Works on any stem, won't pull out the valve cores, you don't have to disassemble your valves and treat them over night before use, one handed use, can hold 220psi without popping off.....

+1 for Silca. I've had mine (black, wood handle, little loop lever on the head, smallish feet, gauge at the bottom of the shaft) for well over 30 years. I have never had to do or replace a single solitary thing. It just keeps working. That Hirame pump head is awfully tempting, though, especially if it does shrader valves, too . . .

I bought mine in 1978 and it still works like new. I don't think they are still made, but don't be afraid to buy a used one.

Is this Silca same quality as yours? https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...s.php?id=44155

I see a nice one on ebay. Is this yours?

It's basically doesn't move much air any more. There's little resistance until the very bottom of the stroke. (It's a Husky, the one with the cast iron foot.)

In my case, Joe did, indeed, blow. I returned 3 of them over about 27 months to Performance. The problem was that the front valve would wear and not create a tight fit. The Performance folks told me they get several JoeBlows returns a week and steered me to their house pump. So far so good.

My vote goes to the Leyzyne "Classic Floor Drive," about $50. Nice big readable guage, pumps w/ little effor to 11bar (160psi). However, there appear to be some QC issues with the screw-on valve attachment (it's reversible for Presta or Schrader valves). I had to return the first one I bought because the adapter leaked (poor threading, apparently). My LBS replaced it with another that has been working perfectly.

The Park PFP-4 is a very good pump. So is the Silca, but that's only for Presta valves.
I recently purchased a Lezyne ABS Alloy pump. It screws on to the valve. So far, so good.

I've got several pumps but the one I like the most is the cheapest, a Performance brand "Hurricane - Essential". The head is easy to engage and it's never given me trouble. I keep it in the bike shop at work, where it has been used almost daily for 5 years now by myself and numerous commuters/riders at my place of business.

Been using an Avenir black floor pump the last six years with no problems. My LBS gave it to me because I was a good boy (meaning I spent money there). Still want to get a Lezyne though.

Same here, the Wally World Zefal seems fine and the price was good. Works on both presta and schraeder.
