Just scored one of these at the Madison swap meet. And OOOHHH la la, I think I like it.
Full 531, full first-year Shimano 105. Didn't have original wheels on it, but the wheels that it *does* have are Rigida red-label on UI Shimano hubs. For the cognoscenti, which Shimano units had oil ports and low flanges? But I *also* got a pair of Cyclone hubs inside Mavic GP3 tubies, and I think those will have to make their way on. Along with the 13-24 Sachs 7-speed freewheel.
I love swap meets. I really do.

Oh, and it's not FULL 531; butted 531 main frame tubes and I've got to assume Ishiwata 022 stays and blades.

Very nice but you left out the best parts. those beautiful dropouts with the RD cable running through the right one, and that great seat lug

After looking over some of my carefully-hoarded Suntour stock, I believe I'm going to re-vamp this, or at least the transmission. I'm going to pull the cranks and do the full Khatful on them; shifting will be handled with a pair of Command Shifters in index mode, controlling Superbe Pro over a 13-24 7-speed Winner Pro. I'm going to need new hoods for the brakes, and of course everything gets a good cleaning. But for a hundred fifty dollars including the wheelset and tubies, I think I made a pretty good buy.
These two took FOREVER for my phone to load them to photobucket, but Bianchigirl, these should make you happy:

That was my first "real" bike, bought new in '87 when I was 18. Nice find, I put 12 years on mine (no idea how many miles, but lots) before passing it on to a friend when I got a new rig. I always thought that gen of 105 stuff was great kit. The brakesets are a thing of beauty, and worked as good as DA ever did.
Enjoy it!
