The correct hubs would be low flange Maillard 700s labeled "Peugeot Trophy". I have a set on my '74 PX.

I hope you have the bridge wires for those brakes. They're unobtainium, although I've made them from derailer cable and 1/8" brass tubing.

Thank you for the info on the hubs.

Yes i removed them when moving the bike because they had a habit of getting lost!
Being in France i think I should be able to find more of the cables from old local bike shops if ever needed.

Also if you are ever in need of any obscure parts then these guys have everything or if not can most probably get it!

Peugeot started conforming with the rest of the world in the eighties. They gave their models names, got away from oddball threads, and started using dropouts with adjusting screws and the Campagnolo standard derailer hanger.

Hi Dave,

Are you the fellow who took their Peugeot down into the "caves" of the streets of Paris to work on it?
If so, will this one follow?

My vote is to keep it as original as possible, especially since you have the gold Mafacs and Simplex parts. I'm simply drooling over those.

Hi , sorry i think there is some confusion. A Cave is simply basement in French and i have my own one to work in. I haven't been working on my bikes in some random spooky caves around Paris.

As for keeping it original, that's what i'm planning and prettyshady has been helping me to get the pieces together.

You can see many tour de france photos where the PY10s had red or green stickers. Also on my bike they choose the chromed lugs which was another option.

Check this one from ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Top-Peugeo...1/120838923312
OK, I stand corrected. But the bike in your link still begs the question I raised. Except for the drilled 93 crank and the gold-plated derailleurs, it is exactly the same as my '77 PX10LE. So I suppose that there were some bikes sold as PY10's in the mid-late '70s that had PX10LE frames.

I'm not sure of the differences but i know PY10s have the prestige Peugeot decal on the left side of the top tube. Does your PX10LE have this decal?
There might be subtle geometry differences that i'm unaware of as well.

Bikes: many

Loving it. much better with the 105 crankset.
it still needs a gold seatpost and stem, but then it would be a grail bike for me.

At last i have a proper answer for you!

Here is a order form for a PY10 and it includes options about which type of Reynolds you would of wanted.
This is for the slightly newer PY10 but i would imagine the older order form would of been the same.

Thanks! It does look like you could chose between "thick" and "light" Reynolds tubes. Great reference!
