Need help finding a thread

A while back, I found a thread somewhere here on the forum that showed how people mounted bikes on their pickups. The one I was interested in showed a guy that mounted clamps on his bed rails. For the life of me, I CAN'T FIND IT!!! Any of you guys know which one I am talking about?

Bikes: 2006 Trek 1500 SLR,

I saw this one, bianchigirl. Unfortunately, it is the wrong one. The one I am thinking of shows a couple of different home made versions and specifically, has those mounts screwed to the top of the bed rails.

I don't remember that thread but, FWIW, I mounted a heavy piece of 3 x 3 aluminum angle stock right behind my cab, width of the truck, bolted to some brackets I attached to my T-rack uprights. I mounted two front fork holders with quick releases in them on the cross bar. This probably isn't helping you any .......

Here's one, but myself, I just mounted several clamps on a scrap of plywood. I staggered the clamps so I can place the bikes closer together. The nice thing about mounting to a scrap of plywood is that it fits in my wife's van.

Bikes: 2006 Trek 1500 SLR,

My goal is to mount a couple of Thule 821XTs on the bed rail near the front of the cab. I would use my back tie down to run a strap through the back wheel. I corresponded with the member here that did it on his, but, I got a new computer after a major crash and lost a ton of stuff I had stored.

I think the one you're looking for might be the first result there?

Nope. I'm beginning to think I imagined the whole thing!
