Bikes: 72 Centurion rolled molly steel road bike

The Centurion Gods have blessed me today.

So I saw a listing on CL today for two Centurions for 125$ each I got them both for 200$ I think someone swapped a bunch of the components on the Master because it has RSX brakes and 105 derailuers. The hubs, crankset, and headset are 600... The rsx sti shifters do not shift so I am not sure if they are dead or if there is some way to repair them. Anyone have any tips to get them working again?

The Lemans has a long cage derailuer for some reason and indexed shifting in the rear, which is weird because it is only a 12 speed...

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's/60's road bikes.

My Shimano 600 shifters were gummed up when I got them. After several days of flushing with PB Blaster, I got them moving again. Then, I injected more grease with a plastic baggie that I cut a tip off of. They have been working fine for about a year now.

If you want, there is a guy who fixes them on Facebook. Or you could always sell them as is.

Wow.

Seriously, like 3 hours ago I was searching CL for a LeMans RS for Junior.

Nice scores!

Yeah, I can't believe it! My girlfriend only has a 29 inch standover and to find this bike that fits her perfect was pretty incredible. I was just going to get the master and when we laid eyes on the Le Mans we just had to have it toO. diamond in the rough FOR SURE!

That is one heck of a score. That's great that you both ended up getting new rides. They are such purdy bikes when cleaned up - and the bonus is that they ride even better than they look.

I upgraded my main Iron Man to 9 speed dura ace so I still have most of the 600 tri color stuff to get this Master up and shifting again if I go that route! I sure do hope I can get these STI's working though, I have always wanted a bike with Sti shifters!

Great job, great score, and I'm sure you'll get it going.
The RSX is a good shifter, and you can rehab it; I'm sure you will.

Hey Robbie did any of these Masters come with 105 and RSX components, or do you thing this has been swapped out at some point?

I knew it would only make me upset to clik on this thread. What a steal! I can't even seem to find decent wheels (600+Araya) at that price. You've certainly been blessed... lucky bastard!

+6 You got a great bargain ! Once you get those RSX brifters working , you'll enjoy it so much that you will convert your red Ironman to STI's. Have fun with your new bikes !

No Master ever came with anything besides Shimano 600, first the EX, then the "tricolor."
However, many an Ironman got some new components and went on the march to world domination.

After a week of degreasing, and a new set of cables, and a new chain I am currently hitting all gears on the 7 speed SIS!! Those things had 20 year old grease in them that was like glue! Praying for no rain today so I can take it out and shake the dust off of it!
Thanks to my awesome girlfriends huge collection of nail polish we were able to touch up all the chips and match the fade!

I just won a 6603 triple Ultegra crankset I might put on this bike so it will be able to climb cliffs when I get it on! stay tunes for pics!

Joy's bike

Joy scrubbed her bike with loving care and Simple Green, then she adjusted the brake levers and re wrapped her bars. She painted all the chips with a coat of white and then a top coat of red (perfect match)! I am pretty stoked my girlfriend is taking pride in her bike and enjoying riding it too!

Wow, that looks purdy. Love the white bar tape. A white saddle might enhance it some too.

There was just a LeMans RS in that same color scheme on Chicago CL, one size bigger. I was tempted to snag it for my son even though the asking was $250. Your score is just awesome, even more so that the two bikes are for you to ride together.

You might look for a white Ladies' Turbo for the LeMans. Obviously comfort and fit are very personal but everyone would like the looks.
