Just noticed the end on those hanging hooks. Are they bent nails? Do yourself a favor and cover the sharp ends with some tape or padding before you scrape up the bars. (I speak from experience after having to re-polish some rims I hung from sharp-edged hooks.)

By the way, judging from the grooves, it looks like the bars are slightly off-center.

Good luck with the rest of the clean-up. Looking forward to seeing it in its restored glory!

No, not bent nails but flesh-hooks. But indeed, they are now covered with tape to not scrape anymore.

Will surely get some more pictures up in the weekend.

Can't wait to have it back on the road as I will have to take some rides before taking it to my challenge
