Pink cinelli

Just picked her up. Not a girly mans bike but a real classic italian. I think I will keep the pink going and not repaint it. Never saw those type of cinelli decals on the down tube. The owner said that it was custom ordered at the factory when she originally puchased it back in the day. Looking foward to riding it. Slx tubing. Not sure of the model or the year. Hoping one of our italian experts can shed some light on this one. Also has dura ace 6 speed index to help date it. The brakes/levers have to go...i do have an extra set of dura ace laying around some where.

So it rides good, glad to hear!

That pearl pink finish is set off nicely by the gold detailing paint.
Black hoods and saddle should give it a more userly look, can't wait to to see.

How many miles did you do this morning? I'm sure you're not done yet!

Do the chicks dig it?

That's a beauty. I've not seen that seat stay arrangement on other Cinellis. I like the Hello Kitty lettering on the DT.

The fork is an exact "reverse" the same forks I've seen on other Cinellis, as far as where it's painted vs. chrome left polished.

Black saddle/wrap/housings, and the bike will look completely different. Killer stem.

mmmm i think i will pass on the pink tassles ... thanks bianchi girl but i think i will take the other advise and go with the black saddle and lose the old white turbo. dddd did one of his usual great tune ups on the bike and it is smooooth. I havent seen another cinelli quite like this but I suppose they did many variations at that time.

For once Joe, a bike your size, well maybe a cm small. Unusual component spec for a Cinelli. Attractive, I normally say handsome, but its pink.
I once had a hot pink bike, very cool looking. This was in the 70's when that was a brave thing to do especially with shaved legs.
Needs black bar tape and a black saddle.

Yes. your right.. black is the way to go. Thanks much..yes, I think its quite 'handsome' as well. I have been warned not to be seen on this bike in certain neighborhoods around here but........now im looking for a matching jersey. I could go with the old telecom jersey of
Riis and Ulrich, as i recall that had some pink in it.

With pink, white on white is the only way to go. Be brave.

BTW, guessing later 80's for that bike, due to two H2O braze-ons. I've never seen one with those graphics, send good pictures to: Cinelli Only and see what he has to say.

I'm not usually one for pink but I really like that. Simply gorgeous.

Looks 52/53 ish... Just my size.

PM me if you want to trade the frame for a ~54cm Tommasini Super Prestige + chunk of $$. I'm serious...

Looks to be more like a 54 from here. Is this the dented Tommasini you are looking to trade? If so, your Tomma is probably a better bike, unusual factor not accounted for.

Indeed a beauty! Congratulations! I rode my pink Tommasini for a handful of times until my cycling buddy bought it from me about a week ago. Sad to see her go@ you have a lovely Cinelli! I can just imagine the ride! Congratulations again!

My Sini isn't dented...

And Joe, it's red/maroon but paint is pretty beat. Check the link in my sig for pics.

4Rings, I'd wager your Tommasini rides better than the Cinelli in question.

I had yours confused with another that was available not long ago that did have a dent. My apologies. Tommasini offers factory repaints, FWIW.

Most interesting indeed. I emailed the 'cinelli only" gentleman and he is not sure that it is a "cinelli". mmmm I wonder who would go to all the bother of having the engraved fork crowns,,,brake bridge etc etc with the flying c just to make a counterfit? he wanted a pic of the bb. that to in cinelli..i know that doesnt mean a thing since ive seen many many bikes with cinelli bb. but all the other cinelli bits look like quality engravings to me. The gal i got it from also seemed honest enough although she was just saying what the girl she got it from told her so???? here is a pic of the bb if anyone is interested. At any rate, i think i will give her a buzz again to see if she can verify anything

I too have doubts about its authenticity as a Cinelli. I think that it is yet another bike built up with Cinelli framebuilding components, that when it needed to be repainted was taken to mean it was a Cinelli. The fork crown, lugs and BB shell of this bike are all items that Cinelli sold to framebuilders...
