My newly acquired Centurion Ironman Master in a color I hadn't seen before

I purchased this beauty from the original owner last weekend. It was very well kept and never really used much. I had a few days off work so I used them to tune her up and give her a nice wax. This was my first time overhauling a bottom bracket and those loose ball bearing were fun.

It still has the original cables since they didn't appear to be in horrible shape, but I'll probably get some a little later just to be sure.
I posted the parts for this bike in a different thread, and now here they are on the bike.

I've seen the White/Teal fade before, but never like this one. Enjoy the pictures! (The blue/teal is a lot greener in real life.)

Here's the set.

Sweet. Love the colors and the 600 group in bronze.
Little lighter fluid and a clean rag (white) will make those hoods look like new again.

Thanks that tip. I am cleaning up my own centurion and was wondering how to get those hoods clean.

Omgar, the bike looks great!

Beautiful '87, the first year of the Master.

There are several ways to get white hoods clean.
There is a thread currently up on an Ironman Expert, has some tips.

yep my wife has the exact same color scheme / model in a 48cm. btw: i think centurion called that color scheme a white / teal two tone set not a fade like on other iron mans.

good point, brooklyn_bike.

Centurion did consider the two-tone "solids" a different scheme; I think they called it contrast.
Quite often, the "fade" schemes/colors followed a year or so later.

'85's were contrasts, head tube only, lined lugs in head tube color.
'86's were contrasts, head and seat tube, no lined lugs.

Experts:
'87's were contrasts. 88's "faded" the '87 colors but no Miami Vice. '89's were either all black or blue smoked fade.
This included the Terry design salmon/white.

Masters:
'87 were contrasts, '88's were smoked fades. '89's were marbled fades.

I'm not sure of the solid red Master being an '88 or '89. Decals were consistent with '88. (yellow logo)

Awesome, so that makes this a definite '87. It rides so well.

Beautiful. Those tires look very clean. I want some with a green stripe like that. Are they Vittorias?

Well scratch that...looks like another recent thread already answered my question!

Something that I've been meaning to ask about the Ironman bikes is, is there anything geometry-wise that's all that different than "standard" road geo? Modern tri geometry is, of course, very different from your average road bike but the angles all look pretty normal on these. Sorry for the thread drift but I was curious.
