help with indetifying 80s zullo
Hello everyone!
I recently bought what it seems to be an 80s Zullo. Unfortunately previous owner had repainted the bicycle and therefore I cannot see any previous markings.
Shimano 600 was probably installed instead of original components.
Here are some pics, sorry for cell phone photos!

Thanks,
Greets from Croatia!

Looks like it could be a nice, sporty Zullo.
Maybe a Sprint or a Special.
Please look on the top of the bottom bracket shell and tell me if it says Sprint or Special.
Here are a couple of pics of my early 1980s Sprint when I first brought her home. Hope these help.
Btw Three of the four Zullos I've owned came with Shimano 600 originally.
My Sprint was originally built witha mix of Gran Sport and Nuovo Record.

[QUOTE=Branimir;14538595]Hm, since bike has been repainted, there are no letterings on the bottom bracket. Also does this part of top tub look like Zullo?

Hmm, it might just be a Zullo fork on another brand's frame.
Here's another shot of the cluster on my Sprint for comparison.

I don't think the frame looks like a Zullo.
Could you take a straight on shot of the front of the head tube?
Why don't you email Zullo directly with some pics for id purposes?
They have helped me with a few ids.

Well, I've seen Zullos w/o a panto'd head tube.
A forum member nearby has a Special w/o panto.
I'll get in touch with RJ and see I he can't take a look as well.
As for what it might be otherwise, there are tons of forum members here that are better at that id game.
I'd still contact Zullo as well.

I sent an email to Zullo regarding my bike, with photos, hopefully I'll get some answers soon!
Thanks for all the help, I've been lurking these forums since 2007, but haven't posted much.
I've been very very satisfied with this bicycle, and since previous road bike I owned was a newish aluminum entry level bike, this one feels like a dream compared to the old one I used to drive. I dig the classic geometry and the bicycle looks so stylish and elegant. Though, I had problems with the headset, it kept unscrewing and I managed finally to tighten it up so it doesn't unscrew itself when driving over rough roads. Also, I broke the seat post screws (campagnolo) and replaced it with a quick release for the moment, hope to get a replacement screw in a few days.

But I am most pleased to hear you already enjoy the bicycle.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable ride to do some bird watching today.
...and then a leisurely lunch at a local lake.
What did we ride?
A 1960s Hercules and a mid 1980s Peugeot mixte.
Sometimes the best rides are not on high zoot Italian racing bicycles.
No matter what, your bicycle still looks very nice.

Yes, I don't really mind if it's not a Zullo frame, I still think it's beautiful and makes me happy every time I ride it. Though it would be nice to know what it is exactly.
I managed to google up the name of the part, it's the seat post binder, a campagnolo one, I see them on ebay but they cost something like 25$ without shipping... Is there any other replacement/alternative to this one, I don't feel like paying that much for a simple screw mechanism.

Ask for Ben.
$12.50 for a 10 mm, about $15.00 for the 8mm size. Both are Campy!
If he's out, let us know.
Someone here would have one as well.
I probably have quite a few in storage, if all else fails.
Good luck!

An update to the topic.
I got no reply from Zullo whatsoever, though - I have contacted the previous owner, unfortunately he has no photos of the bicycle in the original shape. He said it was light blue-ish mostly, without any markings on the bottom bracket, and had a Zullo written on the frame, Shimano 600 headset and Gipiemme bottom bracket.

We have been in regions of Italy in August and folks were on holiday.
Plenty of Germans there though.
