When the folks who work for Surly join this thread I suppose my work here is done...

Of course I'll just pick it up elsewhere. This entire thread has been saved.

Might as well just close it down right?

That'll make Surly feel a lot better, huh?

I prefer a Pall Mall and some sweet tea.

Never owned a Surly product, but kind of always wanted to. They do have a certain mystique about them, and you certainly don't see one every day that's for sure. I've built up and ridden a couple of LHT's that we sold to some beginner tourists, and IMHO they're pretty well done. The geometry works well, they ride and handle nicely, and the quality of fit and finish was pretty much top notch. I can find nothing to gripe about on at the least that model of Surly. It's still a dream of mine to own one someday. I guess their marketing works for me. I enjoy the humor.,,,BD

You see 'em all over the place in Sacramento...someone told me they are
made with DB mains and straight gauge stays, like the old Tretubi frames.

Is this true or false, please ?Anyone know ?

I'm not sure I've laughed so hard in the C&V forum for awhile. I'm surprised this isn't a suspension-worthy remark.

He is already banned. Good riddance.

I'm surprised this wasn't locked pages ago.

Same here. I'm thinking I'm not hip enough to understand even half of what this thread is all about. Very confusing.

The OP is a plumber or electrician (I think the latter) and directed his ire at another BF-er who is also in the trades and seem to threaten him with some inside info about that state of his license. All in good fun, of course!

It seems he was also implying that Surly had infiltrated the thread.

Are you actually a colonel? that's really cool.

Also I don't get the part about some posting saying surly bike is cheap...1200$ is not cheap for their specs. Reasonable, hardly.

I've never served in the military; sorry to disappoint. It's just a nickname I picked up many years ago.
