Interesting, BD. I now have mixed feelings about this. While I do believe a cat's nature demands that it be outdoors, where its senses and instincts have the stimulus they deserve, I hate to see my cat kill things. Especially birds. Though I know it's her nature and I'm loath to interfere with that. She yearns to be outside, and it hurts me to keep her inside all the time. But I justify it now given two factors. Disease carrying ticks, which are rampant here, and the presence of coyotes, which are also quite prevalent.

BTW, your Kit Carson would be guilty of a crime in this state! I was amazed when I moved here and found out that the dove is considered a song bird and it is illegal to kill one. I have gotten away from bird hunting but used to dearly love to hunt doves when I lived out west.

It looks more aggressive than it is. These two get along very well, but occasionally, the orange one gets a little too familiar with the other one. "You're in my space!" kind of thing. Specifically, sticking your nose in the vicinity of my nether regions, etc.

Dawg. She showed up 5 years ago and never left. She was in sad shape, completely emaciated.
Now she is fat, happy and sleeps on my neck or chest nightly.

Ah, amore! Seeing these photos of your cats wanting to nap on/with you is heart warming. To think these companions aren't able to feel affection is nonsense.

My Cicciolina would only sleep in my lap, no one elses'.

These days, the only feline in my circle is our neighbor's new kitten. Outdoor cat that visits us, and kind of likes sleeping on the roof of my car. Cute little thing.

Getting adopted by a cat is the highest honor hat can be bestowed on a human!

Cats are independent and do nothing but lay around and get fur on everything........Yeah, right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I'd probably have numerous cats if my wife wasn't alergic! Woe is me!

Wow! Graphic video, vicious dog, and an impressive cat. I firmly believe how a pet/companion behaves and reacts is a direct reflection of how it was treated and raised by their owners.
Tragic for the dog.
