Bump for the evening crowd. I'm hoping to see these numbers even out and for the gum hoods to take the lead. I need validation that I made a good decision!

What the said.

In my mind, "black and tan" looks racy and exotic and sounds exotic.

C&V guys trying to match everything to their honey colored Brooks saddle is the equivalent of hipster fixie guys trying to match all their neon stuff

plus, doomed to fail because it's natural colours in leathah and these nagging little differences show. You don't really have that problem with the RAL coded neon stuff of the fixie crowd

I have glued Leather on top of the existing hoods, to make them last virtually indefinitely , then dyed the leather,
glove pigskin , black, because, if I have to mess with the chain, Punctures, etc. there will be black stuff on my hands..

Show us a picture.
mail me a camera.. I could use a garage with a white door too..

I'd normally say gum - but with those hoods the black looks a whole lot better, so BLACK.

I'm for black too . . . otherwise you'll have too many different shades of brown. Going through a similar process on my 1963 Urago . . . the colour theme is blue/white so, having put on white bar tape, the gum looks too strong so I'm now trying to find white hoods . . . plus the small matter of S/R levers to go with them of course!
