wow thanks for all the info guys, i was looking for a deeper profile to go on my pinarello, it currently runs all Dura ace. i have a couple sets of shamals and atlantas and ventos, but that's a no-no when you're running all DA. so i was looking for another brand of deep rims, what about cxp 30's i believe they're deeper profile, what are peoples opinions on those?

here's the pinarello as current, i was debating if the grey anodized goes with the bike, so i was just gonna get deep silver rims relaced or laced to new rims and DA hubs.

They don't have eyelets. I don't have personal experience, but I've seen them on a number of very expensive custom builds and reviews are positive.

Not quite, but I would look anywhere else if you are in the market for budget deep(ish) section wheels.

H plus son started deep in hipster territory but their archetype has found its way on many recent custom road bikes. Firefly seems to be using them a lot. I hear good things from great wheel builders.

here they are on a Peg (not hipster)

And a de rosa for good measure

If you are going deep, I would go with the dt Swiss 585 without question. Great quality rim. Here are mine:

I think your bike would look great with the hard anodized color and some tan veloflex tires.

Yes, They are supposed to make a 700x23 feel more like a tubular. Same as the hed Belgium c2 and velocity a23.

Gray anodized just fits the era. I'm seriously debating lacing a set to my record hubs that currently have the cxp33s

But they are cheap, I wouldn't buy them though, usually with something that cheap comes with issues.

Entry level Campagnolo/fulcrum wheels have a great track record. Nothing to be afraid of. People cyclocross and loaded commute on entry level campy wheels without any issues.

Hard to go wrong with Veloflex Master tires, other than mounting them on my Campy Neutrons.

Nothing a jackhammer couldn't solve.

Correct information.

I have been impressed by the Fulcrums I have ridden, so much so I bought some 5 CXs last winter for my Ritchey cyclocross build.

The decals come right off and you are left with a great wheelset for the $$$.

I have a single CXP-33 rim, in champagne, 28-hole, that I bought really cheap awhile back. I got it for a 28-hole Mavic Cosmos rear hub, which was also cheap (the rims were worn out, but the hubs are still excellent), but I need to find someone who's comfortable building it for me. A couple different shops didn't want to mess with it, at that time anyways, maybe it was too new-fangled back then.

It is a very good quality and very durable rim. You have the SUP and UB control which are typical mavic advantages even if the cost of a single rim isn't cheap

Open Sports is below Open Pro. It has a pinned joint. QC is very poor due to low price. Wheel should be OK if properly built. Keep spoke tension low due to the thin wall.

I really like the CXP10's I have on one of my bikes they have a nice somewhat classic look and are stiff and strong for lightwieght rims. They are not in production and can be kinda of hard to find though those who have them just don't seem to want to sell them.
