Beautiful frameset, is it going to be repainted or you will leave the original paint?

Well, since the chainsaw keeps throwing the chain off, I am taking a break, lol. We had an extra chain, but that was three years ago. I will take a pic of the clamps soon. I see a Brev under the light rust coating I think. They might be Campy, but I don't know. I am going to leave the paint intact, and just touch up the chips. The solid paint makes a match almost as easy as yellow and blue.,,,,BD
Hmm, with brown wrap and saddle, what color cables? Brown or green? IMHO there's not enough white on the frame to pull off white cables. The piece still in the top tube clamps is a light silver. Now if I could find some lined clear housing, that would be ideal? There's some on ebay, but $40 for a set of cables is a little rich for me right now.,,,,BD

Completely by chance I reached into an old dusty tub of tools, and pulled out the spare chain for the chain saw. Soooo, back to work I go.,,,,BD

I'm gonna have to vote for brown. Although I'm sure none of the browns will match up I think it would be better than having two different colors of green not matching.

Does anyone make a counterpart gold to Dura Ace grey? Probably one of the most needed colors that isn't out there.,,,,BD
I agree about the greens being better than browns. Too much brown might kill the look I am going for. Brown wrap grouped with gum hoods and brown cables, errr....

Oops, read it wrong. Sorry. Too much brown concentrated at the bars though? Maybe shellac'd tan cork with brown cables?,,,,BD

Nice bike - congrats on the find and the trade.
I agree - under appreciated. Bob Freeman of Elliott Bay Bicycles, in Seattle, has one and might have a little info for you: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8379107...7603432483716/
Cheers,

Nice Score! The frame lugs are sweet. I must say, this is the 1st time I've heard of this builder.

I had heard of them before, but just through searching endless pages a few years back. I have yet to see one with chrome Nervex lugs though. From what I can gather so far it was a store brand, and frame building was farmed out to several different shops through the years. Still two questions though. If there were different models, what is this one? And? Does anyone have any info on this possibly being a Charles "Roberts" built frame. I find it way too convenient that it has the same seat stay cap pinstripe treatment as the Roberts bike I linked to a couple of pages back. It also has a paint scheme likeness to a Mercian Vincitore, though I am certain there is no connection, other than being from the same country. I am just loving the earth tones mixed with chrome for sure.,,,,BD
The Vincitore paint scheme, which I have quite a fondness for! Probably part of the reason I am in love with this frame. Yeah, No spade lugs, but hey.

That frame looks to be pretty large. I can't remember how big your other bikes are, but can you fit on this one?

Yep. It's right at the top of my size range, but workable. I can stand over it with the Araya 27 x 1 1/4's it had on it, and plan to run 700's with smaller tires.,,,,BD

It is going to be beeyooteeful.
What components are you planning to install? Wheels?
If the crank and BB I took off my Gran Sport will work, you can have them for shipping cost - let me know. Remember it needs a chainring bolt.

I have pretty much everything, but that is a kind offer that I just may take you up on. This project may take a little longer than I thought, since there are a couple of things I don't have that I think this bike really needs to shine. I was going to rob the Moto Grand Record for most everything. A TA crank would be ideal IMHO, though funds are limited. Thankfully it has an english bottom bracket, though.
I was planning on using the drivetrain parts, wheels, etc from my GR to start. The brakes I will have to acquire later, as Campy seems to be the way to go. I don't know though? Would the Universal Mod 61 centerpulls be THAT out of place on the GB? Granted if the reach is correct? What about Mafac Racers?? I have a couple of sets of those, and a set of the levers with black stockings. Racers might just be just the ticket? I just tried searching for the Mafac levers I have, and found not a single set with the black tips.,,,,BD

Found em! These are the levers I have, but without turkey wings. The set came off of a Peugeot PA10 IIRC? The hoods on mine are more of a Weinmann/Dia Compe style though. I was mainly referring to the covers anyway. I think I will grab a wheel and the Mafacs, and see how it goes. The reach might be too long, but with 700's it might be a little better fit.,,,,BD
