Dent Repair - Tips, Or Tutorial?

Ack! I knocked my son's bike over and left a small dent in the top tube. It is a very small, but noticeable, dent about 1/3" long, with a bit of paint transfer. Sadness. The bike is white and there are no decals in the affected area. I would like to repair the dent, cosmetically. I'm thinking filler - touch up paint - compound - polish. Will this work? Can anyone offer any tips, what to use, process? I've never done anything like this before (dented a bike, or repaired a dent).

Be careful sanding, bike tubing can be very thin (less than 0.5mm for some high end tubng) and easy to sand through. Sand the filler, not the tubing.

Maybe the best, and easiest, thing to do is just touch up the paint.

I polished it out and the paint is now unmarred. The dent still visible, though pretty minor. There is some touchup painting to be done, so I may try filling and touching up this spot, if my touchups on other spots come out nicely enough.
