Mostly a tongue in cheek question. I know what I do, go uphill to the short flat section. Just wanted to see if anyone else gives it more than a moments thought.

Recently did this. On a new build I want to see what the bike has to offer. Flat, then steep climb & descend.

The very first "shakedown" ride I did on my new Rawland was a hill training loop I do, so about 2500 ft of climbing in 25 miles. I had to know whether the bike was ready for all sorts of stresses before I rode D2R2 a week later.

This must be one of those hypo-thetical-type questions. In Seattle, you live on a hill, normally, so the question is, which direction are we trying to go in?

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

I never ride downhill under any circumstances; only uphill. Riding downhill is for sissies.

Yeah, INSANE is about the right term for that. I've seen that before, but I could still watch it more.

My Dad claims he walked to school and back home 10 miles uphill everyday! So it must be possible.

Whichever direction takes you to the furthest point from home, so when the $&(@ French BB unscrews itself you get a nice long walk to think about precession.
