Clamp on Shifters to Braze On?

Can 7 speed 105 shifters that came with a clamp be taken off the clamp and be used with braze on?

Bikes: Current 79 Nishiki Custum Sport, Jeunet 620, notable previous bikes P.K. Ripper loop tail, Kawahara Laser Lite, Paramount Track full chrome, Raliegh Internatioanl, Motobecan Super Mirage. 59 Crown royak 3 speed

I'm pretty sure you can with the correct mounting blocks and screws. The catch is to get these you will likely need to buy a complete set of braze on 7speed shifters.

Just did that with my Wojcik build (Arabesque, but still Shimano)...only needed a set of the concave spacers to make it work. I stole a set from the 105 shifters on my 720 so I guess they are interchangable.

Thanks. I guess if it comes down to it I will try the $5 bin at the LBS. I picked up everything I needed to build a 1980 Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 for my wife and now she might be changing her mind on that frame and may want me to put the stuff on her 1986 Schwinn Le Tour. (Banging my head on the keyboard) Woman!! They change their minds faster than a full Campy Paramount going down hill.

Well if you have access to a friendly bike shop with a lot of parts or a nice bike coop. Your looking for the curved to fit the frame block inside pieces off most 6-8 speed Shimanos and a couple of M5 bolts.
