Recent glancing from that big online sale site.
Colnago already mentioned but this AlAn made bitubo is not often seen.

Another private labeled; Dazzan. Where are all the classic AlAn cyclo-x bikes? Few survivors.

Sciutto and Dazzan (but misspelled with one "Z") were both on the huge list of names posted by MauriceMoss. But now with these provided pix they become entries to "the List" Plus will add a sub-note to Colnago to ref there was also a rare "bitubo" model...Thanks!

Post #17 was a Bitubo too but at these pics it's better to see.

yes it was! I wondered where the note that mentions "dual-ergo" came from, but I believe this is the same as "Bitubo".
So unless I hear otherwise I will correct the notes following the Colnago entry to clarify

Bikes: Cuevas & Cimmaron are my full time riders, small MB-3 and large Competition GS are my sometimers

This popped up on the CR list, thought it was apropos to this thread.
Guide to date Alan Frames - https://www.dcisite.be/en/artikel-info/alan-guide
Edit: Includes a list of "re-branded" Alan's - A number of these are not on "the list" (post #71)

the above ^ made it into this thread courtesy of prolific contributor @Lattz, see post #78

My arbitrary "rule" is the mention of a re-brand existing is the first step to inclusion on "the List", but must be followed with photo evidence ("Pix, or it didn't happen")

So as soon as somebody posts a pic of something with the re-brand legible enough for me to read and re-type it, it shall then enter the rolls!

When I get around to it...

My turn to add one: searching for evidence to ID another ALAN mystery frame I stumbled upon a photo "collage" with enough there to ID a CX frame with a name not yet included (and one not on the huge list from MauriceMoss either!)
Masciarelli
and has some unique cable routing details, not sure if the tubes are CF or ? but likely they are

You mean the picture down-right I suppose? I've seen this before and I think I got a picture but I cannot find it ...

Yes, that in particular but the entire package of cables all on top tube (a CX thing) combined with this "up-pull" cable for the FD and the half-circle cable bridge for the rear brake cable are things I had not seen before on an ALAN

I cannot get the little catalog pix enlarged and sharp enough to be sure, but seems like the Top Cross Trekking model does have the seat cluster with cables for both derailleurs (and FD passing thru the seat lug) plus the rear brake bridge...unless you tell me I'm wrong I will amend the notes for Masciarelli to name that model
Would the Top Cross Trekking need different (from the ones on the red frame above) top tube cable guides that accommodate all 3 cables?

here's a new one (maybe) a Masi re-branded CX model, this blurry pic snagged from another thread discussing vintage CX bikes (and mainly with steel frames).
I will wait until confirmation that I read the decals correctly and this is in fact a re-branded Masi/ALAN

What I don't get is why some consider bonded frame bikes like the ALANs, suspect when it came to how well their frames might hold together, when ALAN was the go-to bike for professional cyclocrossers in the 80's ajd early 90's??

At the risk of rejuvenating the entire “my Alan is still together after 45 years so they’re all indestructible” commentary, then as now race frames were a consumable.

Alan, to their credit, created an innovative and sufficiently durable frame that was significantly lighter than steel competitors, and I suspect provided an unlimited supply to the best racers, creating demand downwards, and from competitors who felt they had to race an Alan but were obligated to rebrand them.

Cross is yet another field in which I’m not an expert, but Alan frames could be ideally suited in that occasional failures were generally not catastrophic and if necessary swapped out next lap?

Where there was a specific Carbonio model with that brand I follow the name with (CF).

There were a few decals (not frames) displayed so despite them being pix of decals I follow them with (?) but happy to edit any that eventually show up as frames or complete bikes.

I will add this C.N.C Special to the List, thanks for bringing one more to our attention!
Any more details as to where this C.N.C. Brand originated ?

I asked about this in a completely other thread, cause I thought I had saved a good link to the ALAN Guide (such a valuable reference), but then couldn't find it!

So here is a valid link that was posted by SoCaled in post #182 and am "parking" it here so it will be easier to find in future:

Sorry I didn't do any more research on it, and should have at least shared the ebay link (as it's a reasonable price for a nice bike and there are more pictures): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/306133068136

interesting! With all those French components I wonder if it's a French re-branded ALAN?
But then this headbadge sticker could point us there or to the Netherlands (but upside down)?
Anyhow I will make the addition to the List and see if any of our experts from Benelux and France have more to contribute about C.N.C. (not the computer-controlled metal-working process)

I have never heard about Guaita so no clue if its a shop or a team or an ex-rider.
